Burned Dvd Will Not Play On Dvd Players.

Question

Hello maybe you could tell me why when I burn a dvd I get a messege that the burn was successfull. It will play back on my computer, my wifes computer but will not play back on any of the 3 dvd players in the house? The burner is a Optiarc DVD RW AD-7290H ATA device. They play on Windows Media player just fine. I have even tried to burn them from Windows with the same results. I want and need this product to work.

Since you did not tell us how you did the burn it is impossible to tell you why it did not work.

Since it plays back on the computers but not on DVD players it seems to indicate that all you did was burn some files to the DVD and only created a data DVD which of course cannot play on DVD players.

Until you come back with some more information, it is just guessing.

The first disk that I burned was on the project 1 going from a vhs tape direct to a DVD and it worked fine. The next one I did I had to use the RECORD, EDIT and SAVE. as there were 2 sections of vhs on the tape with a 5 minute gap of dead time. I recorded the two sections and they were linked. When I hit the button to burn I was asked if I wanted to use windows media or other programs and just x ed out. I followed the instructions and when I was done received the message that the burn was successfull. The whole recording time was less than an hour. Does this help?

How much time are you trying to put on one disc? You can get one hour of video at best quality. Any more, you would have to either reduce the quality or span a couple of discs.

If you are using Memorex or store brand discs, then DON"T. Gte good quality Verbatim of if necessary Sony. For best quality, order JVC Toiyo Yuden on line. Look at this, It may be somewhat dated.
