I used the Best quality from the preferences yet the created DVD quality is quite inferior to a DVD created in iDVD selecting the "Professional" quality.
I use the Mac version of Toast and the source were .mov files. Both DVDs were created using the same source videos.
I purchased Toast because the Internet search claimed it to be superior to iDVD in output quality. While iDVD created DVD was good in quality it was not perfect, for instant when camera was panning the screen was a bit jerky comparing to the source .mov files. I hoped Toast created DVD would address that and was not expecting the quality overall being actually worse than iDVD. Perhaps trying to use custom settings would work better but I kind of expected the program to work with the predefined settings. I'm not an expert in encoding and have no aspiration to become one.
I also wished that Toast web site indicated clearly that after purchasing the product you need to pay for its support.
