Double Screen Capture And Recording In Fast Speed

goingmad

Question

Hi, please can anyone help me at all, bought my son a Roxio game capture for his Xbox and also a new Lenovo lap top for Christmas, have now managed to set up so it's linked to the computer. On the computer, it shows the visual capture, but the the picture is split, the top of the TV screen shows on the bottom of the capture screen, so on the capture screen the picture shows the topif the screen on the bottom and records game play in the same way, ( hope that makes sense!), also, when it captures, it captures the motion in really fast speed, what can I do about this?

Can anyone shed any light on these problems, as really starting to wish I'd never bought it!!

This is the old regular RGC or the newer RGC HD Pro?

Lets start with the connections from the XBox to the RGC USB Device to the TV, in detail please.

Hi, thanks for responding. On the box it just says 'roxio game capture' . I have hooked it up as per instructions, so, the Xbox component cables into game capture box, components from game capture into TV, USB from game capture box to laptop. Changed TV settings to component. For ages couldn't get a picture on game capture box only sound so removed the hdmi cable which then allowed me to get a picture and sound - but also the problems above.

I don't know anything about gaming, and my son is young, so wants his Mum to fix everything!!!! Any help would be fantastic.

Thanks

It's not a HD device so HDMI is out. The original component connection diagram is wrong look at the top of this forum for that pinned thread posted by me.

Are your video card/chip drivers updated?

Download and install the 2.3 MB msxml.msi here and install it, reboot the PC and see if it helped.

Hi, it's the first time I've use this forum , where do I find your pinned thread about the correct installation, have had a look around and cannot see it!!

If you back out this thread, you will see it pinned towards the top of the page. Here is a link to it:

Hi, thanks, found the link, but all my cables were correct. Have now unloaded and re-loaded, tried every setting on Tv, laptop, roxio and xbox, checked device manager and generally ripped my hair out for the 5th day.

Now have still a double screen, captures in fast motion, and constantly has no signal in green but captures!

I officially hate this thing !!!
