Rant Of The Year? Dvd Creator Worst Program Ever--I Want My Money Back!

I've been purchasing this product for 10 years. The only thing I use it for is to do my Family DVD at the end of the year. If it would work it would be great. It NEVER works as advertised. Do you people read the posts with all of the crashes? Every year I upgrade thinking that it will work--IT NEVER DOES. I just spent 100 hours making 1 change at a time before I close the program saving my changes and restarting it. Do you know how many times I had to restart it? Over 400 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess what--just as I was putting the final touches on it, it crashed and now I can't open the file I created. After screaming for awhile, I decided post a new topic. Like it? Don't tell me about your support. You don't even make it easy to contact a real person. There is no phone number. I worked with someone by email--she wasn't helpful. I read all of your "fixes." They don't work. I have a brand new computer with Windows 7 and 8 GB of RAM. Don't tell me about your little fixes. It is a clean install about a week old and your product doesn't work on it. How about paying me $1,000? That's about 1 dollar an hour that I put into that stupid program you call Creator NXT. Better yet, look up my account and have someone contact me. You people are terrible!!! How can you let a product like this go out year after year. I'm an IT Professor and I have never experienced such an distasterous program like this. Do I sound frustrated? My voice hurts from screaming after I lost all my work for the last 2 weeks. MyDVD sucks! Who are your competitors? I need a program that works to make my family video for 2012. At least give me the name of something that works. Am I angry? Hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just waisted another $80 bucks on this crappy product! Have your company president call me. I'd love to come to your company for about a month so I could lead a project team to find out who or that the problem is there. You put useless garbage out on the support website. How about putting a real help desk together with real people you can talk to? Would that cost too much? Guess what? I through with Roxio. Just because you put alot of garbage out on this site doesn't make you a good Customer Support Group. How about fixing the program? Ever heard of Total Quality Mangement? ISO 9000? You should look it up. I'm done venting. I'm done with Roxio.

First, we are not "Your" ! We are users and do not work for Roxio. If you want to vent, contact them -sales this time. Shame on you for not coming to these forums earlier. We may have been able to help.

Computer professionals are the worst because they want the program work the way they want it to work and not the way it is designed to work. Many times they do not take the time to install the program correctly - like forgetting to turn off their anti-virus and by not updating the drivers. I know you said you had a new computer but I wager that there are updates that you did not do.

Corel now owns Roxio and Pinnacle. There is a free trial for the Corel program "Video Studio Pro" (link) If you bought the upgrade from the Roxio store, you have 30 days to get your money back! Here is the policy (link).

Since you demanded much, I demand an apology for all USERS who frequent these forums! You should also apologize to your students.

Hey Guru, I am asking MyDVD to do its job. Nothing more. I have a clean install on a new computer--it doesn't work. I only use this program once a year. Once a year I am disappointed. Did this for years. Now a project that should have taken about 6 hours to create took 2 weeks and it doesn't open. Where do you get off talking about me demanding so much. A family DVD once a year is all I demand. Don't tell me about setting it up this way or that. I know how to read and follow instructions. I've put hours into installing the program properly. The point is that with a clean install and a new computer, it should work. Look, I thought that someone from NXT Creator was moderating this so that I was hoping to get the message to their Help Desk in a way I could vent. Thanks for the comments about my students. Not sure where that came from. Truth is, I'm always prepared in the classroom. Too bad MyDVD isn't prepared to work. I do apologize to anyone who doesn't work for the company because that was my intended audience.

I have a brand new computer with Windows 7 and 8 GB of RAM.

Does that new computer have a brand name and model number?

Posting this would be better>> http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/81985-identifying-your-computer-specs-and-computer-drivers-windows/

Posting A Picture or text file /screen Cap On Roxio>> http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/74120-posting-a-picturescreen-cap-on-roxio/

What is your idea of a clean install?

Was antivirus/firewall software running?

What is the brand name of your antivirus/firewall software?

  • 1 year later...

Personally, I think the author has a point - There should be support for people that would allow for real contact - even if there were a small charge, or maybe free for X # of days after registering a new product.

Secondly - Nero doesn't seem to have as many install issues/ requirements to get it installed. They seem to understand how to work with the newer OS's. A USER should not have to go around turning off

everything - the program should ask via the UAC to install, and then DO what is neccessary itself to install.

Lastly - the product is becoming increasingly more unstable, while pricing itself out of the market.

I have for years updated both NERO and Roxio because I liked certain feature of both, but guess which package might just have to be left behind? And guess who's to blame for that?

There is with the support code.

Every major software tells you to close running programs and turn off antivirus and firewall software before installing software!

Lastly - the product is becoming increasingly more unstable, while pricing itself out of the market.

Not unstable on my machine.

I didn't write the program so I can't comment on that.

Time to close this post.
