How To Add Codecs To Roxio Software? Record Uncompressed Files!

TobiasRipper

Question

So far I've been managing to solve my own problems and just posting the answers on this forum but this time I really need help.

First of all. I know that I will end up with huge files if I record uncompressed I've been working with FRAPS for a long time to realize that is exactly what I need if I want to receive manageable quality. Yes, I have plenty of hard drives.

The thing I'd like to know is how to add codecs to Roxio.... after installation I only have the default M2ts codec which is now what I work with. I've seen people have DiVx and AVI and WMV codecs which I already have installed. They simply do not show in the setings drop down menu.

Please and thank you.

From what I know the DivX, AVI and WMV was from the regular game cap (non-hd). With the game cap hd pro you only have .m2ts as a file format.

Dammit. Not good. Vagas won't accept audio and I am not using the included editor since it's extremely limited. Avidemux keeps bitching about file being too short and any possible solutions suggested on this forum have brought no success.

Have a look at the pinned topics up top of this forum page. Back out of this thread, and you should see them.

Yep, unlike some users I have Read all the pinnend topics and done forum search on Vegas and Avidemux problems... so far people just been telling that they have a problem and whenever they start getting to solving it Jim_Hardin comes along and says "this is a 3rd party software, it is not our problem" or something along those lines, locks the topic and thus no answer's been found.

Only requirement is to be able to chose a different capturing codec. There's no need to go out and create your own codec, you won't dominate the marked from limiting your users to your own software. Be universal dammit. My 2 cents.

But one way or another if I won't find a way to get the files in Vegas without going through the hectic process of conversion, I'm returning the product and moving to hd PVR, I hear they had m2ts problem solved a long time ago using an updated driver. Guess where your problem is, Roxio. Video Review will be in place as well.

This is a users forum, and no one here works for Roxio. You have been given a workaround to solve your problem with a software that has nothing to do with the Roxio product. If you don't want to do it, contact Sony and Roxio, directly. that is up to you.
