Menu Selection Highlight In My Dvd

I'm having a problem linking MY DVD menu selection curser to return to the root menu (HOME page) from the CHAPTER page. Moving the curser among the various chapters titles works okay, but not from the CHAPTER page back or UP to the HOME page. Apparently I have missed some detail in the instructions. Thanks for some HELP HERE! -- Dave

What do you see close to the bottom of the chapter menu page? This should be the default. Where don't you see the icon? Did you make any navigation changes. Did you add additional buttons?

I would like to attach a similar image of my problem Chapter Menu page, IF only I can figure out how to create an image of it. My Windows 7 PRINTSCREEN doesn't seem to work on the Roxio MYDVD window. Any suggestions? -- Dave

There is a very good free program that I use - "Jing". It does a screen capture of either an image or a short video.

 

Just one quick question. Do you have the Windows font setting to 100% (96 dpi) or other?

How is your project setup?

Can you show the Home menu page? I assume you have at least one Title (movie) on the Home page. When you select that Title you jump to the Chapter Menu page you show in your image?

Is that correct?

 

It would be better if you were to "attach" the image file into the post instead of showing a link and having to use another piece of software.

We may be into semantics again. The main menu would not have chapters, it would have "Titles" and within those titles would be the Chapters. I'm guessing that there may be some confusion there. It looks like that is a main menu whoch of course would not have the return and home arrows.

I'm trying to upload an image of my DVD "Title" ("HOME") page. The BEGIN button links to the "Chapter Menu" page, an image which I attached to my previous REPLY. I'll try to attach the image itself to this reply instead of a link to it. My PROBLEM has been: Can I set up a return link directly to the HOME page after the final chapter has finished playing, and how? Or, if the final chapter MUST return to the CHAPTER MENU, then how do i get my curser to highlight and return from there to the HOME button?

How did you create the chapters?

Reply to "my guggi" -- The arrow links to the "Chapter Menu" page. The "Begin" is an extra unlinked button. The chapters were created in the usual way. Thanks for joining in!

There are a couple of ways to create chapters. What is your "usual way"?

I assume that the arrow icon is to represent the "Play" button. I would have renamed the "Begin" to "Play" and linked it to the Chapter Menu and removed the arrow. Do you want to do something with the "unlinked button"?

So how did you solve the problem? It might help another user with the same problem.

Well, when I reviewed how the chapters were edited, I found a glitch (a command which I had unwittingly created in the SETTINGS window) after chapter 3, which I have deleted (no longer shows on the PROJECT VIEW window) and re-chaptered.

 

The uploaded images of my TITLE page and CHAPTER page (with arrows -- which I learned from your examples) pretty well show how the project ended up after all of your suggestions.

 

This probably doesn't explain everything which solved my initial problem, but then again, I'm no guru!
