Disc Burning Issues

naidu jay

Question

I am creating DVDs using Roxio Creator NXT Pro selecting the High Quality option in order to maintain same as original. When I want to burn the size of the videos comes to 11GB. I need to use 1x 8.5 GB and 1x 4.7GB discs to maintain high quality. Please tell me how to go about burning on two discs.

If there are any other ways to maintain high quality please tell me. Naidu Jay

How much time are your trying to put on the disc? Essentially, you can put one hour of best quality video on a single layer disc. Almost two hours on a DL disc. If you have more than that, then you will lose quality.

There is no way of splitting the project to burn to two discs. You would have to make two separate projects and burn each.

If you are close to the two hour limit, you can burn to a folder set and then use Video Copy and Convert to burn the folder set to a DL DVD. You will lose some quality but perhaps not enough to matter.

If you have the program and equipment, you can use a highly compressed (but good result) DiVX or XVid disc. Those hold several hours. Google for the information on those. You would need a DVD player that plays DivX to make use of the format.
