Game Cap Hd Not Working In Windows 8

I updated to windows 8 a few months ago but haven't used my cap since before the upgrade. Now I can't get updates to show in the Software manager and the capture button presses but the capture screen won't come up.

 

I tried to retry the update page but the link is dead and my software won't update itself on startup.

 

Please help me use a $200 product that I paid for.

Upgrade how?

 

Does that mean you poured Win8 over your existing (win7?) OS rather than format and clean install?

(this method should work but often will cause unexplained errors and behavior over time )

 

The link is broken, reported, and the software does not update itself. You have to do that manually and there is only ONE update, SP1.1.

 

Sadly there is not a way to check what is installed other than Help - Check for Updates and see if it finds one

 

I think what you want to do is try a repair but make sure you do it this way...

 

Plug in the Capture device and Disable it in the Device Manager (Sound and Video Game Controllers)

 

Unplug the device and put it aside till later.

 

Turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. and insert your Roxio Disc, run Install.

 

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

 

When you reach the screen where

Repair

is offered, choose that!

 

Then turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

 

Now give it a try and let us know what you get
