My Own Topic - Split

Martin Helwig

Question

I have the exact same Problem. My Notebook stats are: Processor: Intel ® Pentium ® CPU P6200 @ 2.13Ghz 2.13Ghz. 3.8GB of RAM. Win7 64bit.

Now to the Software itself: It ran 2 Times Perfectly then i tried to use it a third time and it keeps Crashing.

It Crashes this way: First i start the Programm. It Loads and then it begins. THe Window Pop up and then after a few Seconds my Notebook gets an Black Screen followed by an Blue Screen that says like: Windows does an Emergency Shut down to prevent damage to the Notebook.

Only thing i can say: Is there anyone out there that has an solution to this? (Without buying an 1000 Euro PC.)

EDIT: Info that might help: I am a PS3 user. Roxio setup is Component Cable at the Input and Output.

And some more detail to the Crash: Sometimes the Window load Sucsessfull but i cant chance any Settings. And when i click the Source tab the Software Crashes. The first 2 times it ran Perfectly with Signal and the Preview shows everything. That was before the new 14 Windows updates. The third time i tried to use it was after the 14 new updates for Windows.

That would be a Catastrophy when the Windows updates ruined everything. >.<

And i Repaired and Reinstalled the Software. But no luck with that.

In your pic you seem to have 2 instances of Game Capture running...

Otherwise, everything on the Software side seems to be working...

But you must try a different source!

Even if it is an HDMI out of your PC and plugged into the GameCAP  Anything that is hdmi or component just to make sure the Device itself is not where the problem is!!!

Of course make sure you are connected to the Input side of the Device ~ the side OPPOSITE of where the USB plugs in ;) double check, anyone can make that mistake.

I dont know what "instances" means in German. Google Translator cant Translate Properly. It Translate instances to Instanzen. But even Instanzen is the right Word i dont know what i means. But i dont have an another Source. THat means i have to buy an DVD or Bluray Player or anything. And i dont have the Money for that.

So looks like a Dead end. The worst Scenario is i have to save up Money for a New PC or an another Source like an DVD Player. But then i dont know how to Connect that DVD Player to the Roxio. Is it the same way like Connecting the Roxio Game Cap HD Pro to my PS3 Slim?

Was Jim sagen wollte mit "instances" is, dass "Roxio Game Capture" zweimal in der TaskBar vorkommt, also zweimal laeuft.

Ich wuerde auch Skype abrechen.

Ah ok.

I will try this today. But i dont have a DVD or BD Player. I use my PS3 for DVDs and Blurays.

EDIT: I Pluged Roxio Game Cap HD Pro in to my Laptop. I opend Device Manager and Roxio Game Cap HD Pro shows up in it.

So i made absolutly 110% sure that my Roxio is in Device Manager.

But as i said i have only my PS3 Slim to test my Roxio Game Cap HD Pro.

Wow you guys lost me back at the first 'ick':D:lol:

You shouldn't have to buy anything else! But you need to beg or borrow something like a Player or get a friend with a Laptop to stop over and supply an HDMI connection that you can use!

I want to test to make sure that the problem is not the GameCAP Device itself that it failing.

Sorry Jim, I basically explained what your meant by the two instances. This is actually normal.

Please don't cut into someone else's Topic - it is NOT the same, you don't have the same PC and it simply rude...

Please try a proper repair again but make sure you do it this way...

Unplug the device and put it aside till later.

Turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. and insert your Roxio Disc, run Install.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

Then turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Finding and Posting Install Logs:

HERE

Your Lap is at the low end of the minimum requirements so defrag may help and make sure you have it on a hard surface (overheat) and are using the AC adapter and don't run anything else while using RGC.

Let us know what that does for you ;)

I finally did it!! :D

I found out the Source of all that Mess.

The Source are three little Roxio Updates.

Because this Time after Uninstall it i reinstalled it once more. But without Checking for updates. The 3 updates has a 70MBish size.

After the Installing without the Updates my Roxio Works just fine as at Day 1

Iam so Happy now i finally found the Error Source.

And now a Question: Iam the only Person who has Trouble with this 3 Updates?

So it would appear

I don't recall it as "3 Update"... I know there is a SP 1.1 and I think I recall seeing one other when it is checking during install.

BUT it could be 3 because I never have watched it that closely :D Have a Win8 that I want to install it on today, so I will forgo the coffee cup refill this time and WATCH it closer ;)

There is only one update for RGC HD Pro.

If you tell it to check for updates during install you will never see it, it just installs it.

If you tell it no during the install and use the program updater after it's installed you get this.

Today i tried your Repair Instructions above.

Result: The Software dont Crash my Laptop any longer. BUT now there are 2 other smaller errors:

1st: After i press the Blue big Capture button the Capture Screen WIndow opens. Then it stay blank only the Background is visible.

2nd: The Surface of the Capture Windows shows up. But no Signal (Roxio Game Cap HD Pro is connected. And all settings on the PS3 are Complete.) and i cant choose any Options. I can click on the tiny downpointing Arrows but i cant choose any Options.

These are the two smaller errors. But at least its not crashing all over the Place. :D

EDIT: The "No Signal" is now Green instead of the usually Red.
