So do you have a problem with the stop button or do you have a problem with recording. Unfortunately you have not given us enough information to even try to make a guess.

When you are recording, the record button changes to stop.

or

"Answer:
Check the
Recording Duration
checkbox and define the length of video you are going to capture. If you know the exact duration of the video, just type it in. If not, just put in an approximate duration that you know is longer than the video."

Now tell us about the video tape. Is it in good shape, does it have blank spots (the program see this a a complted video and will stop there0. There is no cure for that unless you want to use a digital camcorder and use it as a pass through device.

I don't have a manual so "Item 14" is as meaningless as it gets to me

When you start EVD3, which button did you press?

Actually it makes little difference as the record button is in the same place either way, lower right corner, in Red ;)

And once clicked, you will see the spinny and the button turns White (click to stop):

Yes, I had about come to the conclussion that the record button was off screen. However, in setting different resolutions and font sizes, I still can not see the record button nor any of the status there. I am using XP and my windows font size in not in dpi but rather normal, larger, largest. I need to somehow make the display smaller and can not get that figured out

Right click on a blank part of the screen, then properties and in the Display Properties window click Settings and then Advanced. You should get a new window for your Monitor which should have DPI setting drop-down box. Change it to 96DPI if set to something else

Nonsense. Do as Walt suggests, and you will see the DPI settings.

If you don't see it, get a friend, who knows the basics of computers, and operating systems, to help you.

I got set to 96 DPI which is the normal setting and the record button came into view. However the fonts are so small that my desk top is barely readable. So i set to 102% of normal and the record button is just on the edge of going off page but useable. My desk top is still not to the size I like but will live with while using easy DVD. It seems if this thing is going to be classified as easy, it ought to be made to be more compatible with XP at larger font sizes.

I am not used to have to go and change my font sizes when ever I use different programs.

Also make sure that your window for the program is sized correctly - either full screen or "restore down" which can be adjusted to fit the screen. Of course you know those are the icons at the upper right of every window. If you are using restore and lose the icons, just move the window down to see the top and then drag the corner to fit.

What size monitor are you using?
