Easy Vhs To Dvd Will Not Install On Windows 7

WeepDragon

Question

Hi, I just bought Roxio Easy VHS to DVD today for my son to complete a high school project he is working on. On the box, it shows it is compatible with Windows 7. We have Windows 7 Home Premium edition and I'm running 64-bit. When we first tried installing the program, everything was going fine until we received an error regarding MicroSoft .Net. The installation stopped and every attempt to try and install again gives an error message: "This operating system does not meet the minimum requirements for Roxio Easy VHS to DVD. This product will not be installed...." Any ideas? We have all the latest patches and I've tried to remove all portions of installation that I know of (C:drive) but I continue getting that error. I know there is something I need to remove but I'm not sure what. I'm thinking their is something in the registry but I'm not sure what to look for. Any help would be appreciated.

Yea, I bought it new today from Wal-Mart. This was the only thing they had to get video into the computer and it was clearance so it doesn't surprise me it is no longer in production. I tried looking for the log files and there are none listed under Roxio (attached is a screen shot showing what is listed after entering %appdata%). I also included a screen shot of the error message I get when I run the setup file.

2 things...

One is that you did not include your log files???

Secondly, the error message is an indication that the Setup.exe is trying to run in Windows Compatibility Mode <_< (no Roxio Program will work in that)

Use Win Explorer to navigate to the Root of the Install DVD and right click on the Setup.exe, choosing Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure there is not a check mark by Compatibility mode!

Then right click it and choose Open.

While you are in there, compare the Folders to the one in my pinned post on Versions! (just curious what you have)

IF it does not install this way, we will want to see those log files ;)
