bigtraveller
Hi I am sending a bluray disc of a film to USA and the film festivals have a note of NTSC Bluray. I thought first that Toast 11 Pro creates a region free disc. Also a 1920 x 1080 HD film is neither Pal nor Ntsc. Is there something specific about bluray players in USA which will not read a Bluray burnt in UK from a pal .mov file? Many Thanks to any experts who understand this query. 0 tsantee
It's probably the frame rate that's the difference. Your video is probably 25 fps while the ones in the US are either 24 fps or 30 fps. Whereas UK players are set up to handle the differences, most US player are not.
0 bigtraveller
Thank you. Is this something I can change when burning a bluray? I use toast 11 pro. I appreciate your help there seems to be a lot of confusion round this subject most people i know say there is no such thing as Ntsc bluray. Cheers

Cheers My understanding is there is no such distinction and my earlier post was a stab at guessing why your Blu-ray disc didn't play in the U.S. I've done some checking and there shouldn't be an issue. You are correct that Toast discs are all-region so that isn't a factor. Tell me more about the specs of your video. Does the Blu-ray disc play on your player? What were you told happened when they tried to play it in the U.S.?
0 bigtraveller
Just told me they had problems. Not very helpful I'm afraid. I've tried to track down some sort of specification but I've not found anything helpful. An NTSC Bluray seems like the Unicorn possibly mythical but maybe not. I presume none of the tech experts from Roxio look at these questions! Thank you.

Video High-definition video may be stored on BD-ROMs with up to 1920×1080 pixel resolution at up to 59.94 fields per second, if interlaced. Alternatively, progressive scan can go up to 1920×1080 pixel resolution at 24 frames per second, or up to 59.94 frames per second at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.[ http://en.wikipedia....ki/Blu-ray_Disc
