Roxio Hd Pro Footage Not Recording Smoothly

So ive had my roxio HD pro for just over a month now. After a lot of trial and error id finally got to the point were i could make high quailty recording and keep them at 1080 when i uploaded to youtube.

Lately when i record however, the footage that i get keeps stuttering. The recordings run smoothly for a few second before freezing on a frame for a couple of seconds and this continues thoughout the video.

 

Its been fine until only recently, any ideas on why this could be happening?

I use my roxio with component cable on my ps3 if that helps.

What changed on your computer since it last worked correctly?

 

Have you done any computer maintenance, such as defrag your hard drive(s). Don't defrag if you have a SSD.

No things changed, my computers in the exact same state it was. Its just suddenly stopped working properly.
