Encoding Errors

I purchased NXT to replace 2009. I worked the first couple times that I used it and then I kept getting an encoding error 8007000e and 8004520e when burning to DVD.

I unistalled and then reinstalled the program. Still got the error message in MyDVD when burning to DVD.

I continue to use 2009 because that is working but would like to use NXT.

Tell us about your project: how long in time, what kind of videos, transitions, etc.

Have your tried first burning to an iso (image) file or a folder set and then burning to DVD?

Have your tried toggling the encoding mode (Tool/Options)?

The projects average eight minutes and are edited/created in videowave with AVCHD files just using a circle in transition at the beginning and a dissolve at the end. I usually have a couple music files on the music track.

I save in Videowave and import into MyDVD. I usually change the background to a picture on file, save and burn. I haven't saved to an ISO file and then burned from there. Seems like it would be an extra step. I also have not tried toggling the encoding mode. I just use the default settings.

I haven't been able to find out what the errors refer to specifically.

Burning to an iso file or folder set separates the encoding process from the burning process and should tell you whether you have en encoding problem or a burning problem.

You can play the iso file with a software player such as VLC and see if the virtual DVD is Ok. It is not much of an extra step but can save you a lot of coasters and wasted time.

If the iso file plays correctly then it can be burned to a DVD.

 

You say you are using AVCHD file. What kind of disc are you then burning: a standard DVD, a AVCHD disc or what?

 

How much free space on your hard drive? Defragged lately?

The sony camera records in avchd but I burn the project in standard DVD and not HD or blu-ray. My hard drive has about 160 GB available so there should be plenty of room.

I will try burning to an ISO file and try that process.

If I import the same files to Creator 2009, edit, save and open in MyDVD and burn I don't have any problem. The same process with NXT is where I get the errors.

Is this the same problem you had in November? Did you try what was suggested then? It would have been a common courtesy to either close that thread or continue with it. Are you now shopping for answers other than what you received before. Perhaps it is time to pay for support?
