DVD Builder

Question

What am I doing wrong?

When I start the burn process I get an error message; "Project not valid"

Before the project can be switched or burned, the following errors need to be corrected:

Some titles have missing files

Also, I can only get about five pictures on a DVD (4.7GB)

The pictures I am using have an image size of 640X432

Is there a way to reduce the size so I can get more pictures on a DVD?

Thanks [/font] :)

Have you moved some of the pictures since you started the project? I don't believe the problem is the size of your pictures. There must be something else going on. Could you list the steps you took to make the project. What your computer specs are and what type of picture files are you using?

Hi Patty,

Thanks for your response. Based on your response, I decided to go through the process again and found one mistake I was making was, instead of going directly to the DVD button in storyboard, I was using the output production button first, then going to DVD Builder. However, in doing this when I got to the screen to burn my DVD, I got the messsage "Ready to burn", Capacity of current disc: 4.71GB, Estimated size of project 77.69GB. I selected the Fit to Disc button and I received this error message; "Even at minumum quality settings, this project will not fit on your media type. Please remove titles from project.

I went ahead and hit the burn button anyway and that's when I got the message "Project Not Valid".Before the project can be switched or burned, the following errors need to be corrected: Some titles have missing files." That's the complete scenario.

The pictures I am using are in JPEG format.

Computer spec:

windows XP Prof

AMD 64 processor

512MB RAM

87GB Hard Drive

65GB Free

Plextor DVDR

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

How many pictures do you have in your slideshow? Using Output Production first to create an mpeg file (or avi) is not really a mistake but comes in handy sometimes since it may tell you where there may be problems in encoding. To which format did you output?

I must be missing something here. :) If you only have eight pictures in the slideshow, I can't understand how you come up with 78 GB. I think outputting to DV AVI or mpeg, if that is the way you want to go, would be the best, however, why don't you try saving the videowave file, then open MyDVD and import the videowave file into MyDVD and burn to Disc from there. Are we talking about eight still pictures?
