Creator Nxt Pro Installation Problems

SYB

Question

I tried to install NXT Pro on my new Samsung tablet/Windows 8 Pro, several times using different methods (turn of start up programs, safe booting, turn off anti virus, download new DirectX, etc.). None of it worked and I kept on getting "set up interrupted" message. Because I tried several times, I have not been shut out of installation because my key does not get accepted as "It has been used too many times." I seem to have hit a block. Can somebody with the same problem let me know how to overcome this? I tried to attach the log file but it was deemed to be "too big", so I am out of luck again!

I doubt that NXT is able to run on tablets. Which one do you have?

Post a link to your exact TABLET listing the specs.

Thank you for your responses. I have a Samsung XE700T1C-A01CA, smart PC pro: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/tablet-pcs/XE700T1C-A01US has the specs. It has Windows 8 Pro OS, Intel i5 CPU, Intel 4000 GPU, and 4gb of RAM. It is equivalent of an ultrabook in a slate format. I have been able to install all other desktop windows 8 software on it including MS Office 2010 Professional. I will appreciate your help.

Thank you CDANTEEK. Unfortunately, I can not install the program because the key will not work any more "the key has been used too many times". I suppose the only option I have is to pay for technical support and get help that way -- which does not seem fair, since I have already paid for the software. The free 14-day support has expired.

Thank you so much Jim. Did not get any joy from the online store line that you referred me -- all they did was send me a copy of the email confirming my email, which has the same key, without resetting it, so I am back to square one. I suppose I will just have to bite the bullet and buy support. By the way, I had already tried installing after booting up in Safe Mode and it did not work. Thanks again for responding to my issue.

My issue has been resolved. I paid for priority support. The rep was able to reactivate my Key. He then suggested that I set up a new user profile with administrator rights and try to install using that user profile. That did the trick. I am baffled as to why this should work, but I should be content with the solution. I am posting this in case it is of help to someone else. Not too happy with having to pay for installation problems though. C'est la vie, I suppose!

Well, I downloaded the files yesterday. I have a Satellite 305D running Vista 64. I clicked on each of the three .exe files for Roxio (Paint Shop installed without a problem) and "Nothing" happened other than a lot of disc activity. Being persistent I tried several time over several hours and a few restarts to no avail.

I copied the files to my XP desktop only to find these were self extracting files. I extracted each of them and copied them back to my laptop placing them in the correct location. I now have NXT completely installed on my laptop. From my observations and experience I'd suggest you take a look at the WinZip program that was used to create the self extracting files, I find cause to suspect WinZip has its faults.

PS I'm an MCSE so my laptop is checked daily and maintained as needed so please look elsewhere to find fault.
