No Signal

BuckWild

Question

Finally got the software to work today and when I went to record tonight.....

In the capture software the status says "No Signal"

I unplugged the USB cable and hear (da da) (windows event sound for USB disconnected)

I plug the USB back in and hear ( da da da) (windows event sound for USB failed to connect)

I know the cable is good because I use it for my printer....

Any suggestions?

Dan

Hiya tbrewst...

I just checked the Device Manager and there is a callout indicating that "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Now....my concern is that it has taken me about two months to get the @#$%@$ software to install and launch without throwing an error about the certificates missing or being corrupt!

I fear that the drivers are on the CD and if I try to load them I will somehow damage the current install! i know this may seem irrational, but understand that I did the same procedure and over and continued to have that certificate error and then by magic, the software installed!

Advice?

With the RGC USB Device plugged in, right click on both Roxio Gamecap entries under other devices, and sound game and video controllers, click uninstall.

Unplug the RGC USB Device leave it unplugged for now and reboot the PC. Shut down all running programs especially antivirus/firewall software. Place the installation disc in a drive and when repair is offered run it. When it's finished reboot the PC, when the PC is up and running open device manager and plugin the RGC USB Device and see what drivers appear where in device manager.

 HELL NO! I launched the software and guess what I saw? Certificate file is missing of corrupt....!

I ran the repair tool with no luck.

Just ran the Revo uninstaller and removed remnants from registry...

Will now reinstall (with no antivirus running) and let you know how it went....plus have to reinstall directX 9, even through I have 11?

Sigh.........!
