How To Burn A Movie To Play On Dvd Player

Question

Hi, can someone please tell me how to burn a movie which has been saved on my computer, on to a dvd disk. I am using Roxio Creator Business 10.

I have tried everything, and have searched on the net for hours. I must be doing something wrong as the dvd will play on my computer after burning, but not on my dvd players. Other programs I've used to burn movies have worked on my players with no issues.

If someone can just post the instruction on how to do it the right way, I will try it again.

Thanks.

Does you version include a program called myDVD or perhaps Create DVD - Advanced (or something similar)?

How did you burn the movie to a DVD, ie what program from the suite did you use? You cannot simply burn a video to a DVD and play it on a DVD player. It has to be properly "authoured".

Yes, my Roxio has myDVD.

That link does not work for me. :(

When I go into myDVD, I select "New Project" or "Add New Movie" and try to add the movie, and it says that file cannot be edited so it will not be added.

In what format is your movie, ie, what extension does it have?

Also your version of EMC 10 is not the full version (I think) and may have certain features missing or crippled and may not accept all video formats.

The movie is avi, and avi does show up in the files types in the drop-down box at the bottom. It just won't let me add it. It gives me the error message as noted above.

Well, there are hundreds of avi variations and not all are accepted by EMC 10. If yours is DivX avi for example, EMC 10 will not accept it.

Did you download the movie from the internet? How long in time is the movie and what is the file size?
