Won't Record Video

My bf and I just got the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro and it's doing everything it's supposed to except record videos. When we go to hit the record button, it just flashes for a moment, captures a picture of the screen and then stops recording, even though it's acting as if it is recording.

First thing is to make sure you have your software correctly installed!

 

REMOVE the GameCAP device and put it aside until much later...

 

Turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

 

Now insert your Roxio Disc (download version - run Install)

 

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

 

When you reach the screen where

Repair

is offered, choose that!

 

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

That made it worse. it now no longer recognizes any signals and when we try to do anything, the program crashes. I ended up having to uninstall and then reinstall in order for me to be able to do what I had been doing before.

 

EDIT: Turns out that it was depending on the screen that I had it open on which is really weird.
