Jim_Hardin
Even without details, it looks as though a corruption exists... And for that... First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Now insert your Roxio Disc (download version - run Install) Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Sometimes it is more helpful to search the Kb data base for your issue. We are users who do have a life outside these forums so sometimes it may take some time if the thread starts with a bunch of Q and A. Go to the top of this forum, select the support tab and then the Support Home tab. Answer the questions as much as you can and seach for the errro message. I found this (link) Don't worry that it says Creator. You have a component that is part of Creator. Do everything it says. No to the issue that it worked and now doesn't. Do you use a Registry cleaner either by itself (for example System mechanic or CCleaner) or as part of an anti-virus program? Don't. Did you install any new software or updates ? Have you rebooted your computer? Do you defragment the hard drive reasonably frequently (except for SSD)?

sknis
I'm not trying to sluff you off. You have an OEM (limited functionality) version of the software. The company that sold you the computer is responsible for the service of the OEM programs. Contact them. We don't know what kind of changes that the computer manufacturer has made to the commercial product. You should have a disc with that program on it or a hard drive partition with that in it. You may alos be able to download it from the computer manufacture's web site. In the meantime , open the program and look at the "about" page. Tell use what product and version you see there. If you don't have a registry cleaner, don't worry about it. I don't like to play around with the Windows registry. Windows registry is essentiall a libraby of all the parts of programs that refer to other parts of the program so that they run. (That is really a basic analogy). Apple doesn't have a registry; that is what they brag about. A system restore is pretty drastic to fix this problem ! Get a neighbor to help; don't do the restore just quite yet.
