Set Top Player All of the Sudden Won't Play EMC 8 Disc's

After a year of very satisfying use making photo DVD's with EMC 8 my set top player refuses to play them. I have made dozens over the year with no issues from the same group of blank DVD's. It now won't play the new one's or the old one's. Any ideas?

Has the player been cleaned? Dust can build up and effect the optics. Don't get a cheap cleaner and it's best to use one as suggested by the manufacturer.

Other than that, can it play any disc---the one's not home made?

Thanks for the reply. It plays regular (prerecorded disc's) just fine. I've never had any playback issues with it when using factory recorded DVD's. It hasn't been cleaned however. The player is a Panasonic RP-56 and is a few years old although I would consider us fairly light users. What happens is when I put in a EMC 8 produced disc it attempts to read it for about 30 seconds and then pops up a message that it's not a playable disc. It's been weird because to this point it's played the DVD's I've made with EMC 8 just fine. I made a new one yesterday and this started. I immediately got one of the old one's I made last year, that had previously played just fine, and put it in. Guess what, it didn't play either. I guess cleaning is the best shot. Thanks for the help.

A friend had this problem with a JVC XFA 95. No disc cleaner did the job even the liquid ones you apply to the brush on the disc. He took the case cover off and there was a metal guard over the laser. Removed that and swabbed the spring loaded laser very gentle, with isopoprol alcohol and then distilled water. Put it back together and reads fine now!
