Toast 11 - Error Result Code= -50

Col25

Question

I am running Toast 11.1 on Mac OSX 10.7.5 and when I am trying to convert .MTS files (from a JVC Camera) I converted 40 and then when I tried to get another 10 files done it came up with "Couldn't complete the last command because (ID= -50). Result Code = -50"

(See screen shot.)

I have 40gig+ of disk space and trying to convert around 5 gig of footage.

I have tried this around 5 times with different files to get the same result

Any help will be appreciated

I have been recently getting the exact same error message trying to convert TiVo Transfer files after having successfully converting them for months. I have Toast 11 Titanium on a MacBook Pro 17" 750GB HD, OS X 10.6.8. I have tried fixing Permissions, Repairing Disk and even uninstalled every Toast related file & re-installed Toast - Nada, still have the problem. Roxio (now Corel) has no support since I have had the program 14 days (Not about to pay them a dime for support since i just purchased the upgrade in Sep). Checked all of their Knowledge Base to no avail. Can't find a single solution on the net.

Did you try the workaround I suggested in my private message to you?

Digital Guru, not yet, but I did go back and re-transfer & re-convert the last TiVo show of the 15 total that had completed successfully and it worked. So now I am trying to figure out what is different with the next show & subsequent that started giving me the (ID=-50) error. I am determined to find out what is going on.

I recall having one or maybe two shows that Toast rejected with an error. Maybe it was the error you're getting. My memory is faded about this, however. My guess is there was a problem with the video itself such as dropped frames. This wouldn't show up on the TiVo or even when played on the Mac because playback software has error correction to skip past such problems. But when Toast multiplexes the video it processes each frame. A frame break can halt the process. In the past Toast would sometimes crash at such a point. In addition to using TiVo Decode that I linked to in my message another option may be to use Toast's Convert window to export the video in a different format such as using the Series 3 Apple TV preset. Maybe one or the other of those workarounds can make a video that doesn't generate the error.
