'capture' Will Not Work.

KingHoovy

Question

I've gotten it to launch, but now it won't record. Upon opening, it just says no signal. If I change the Quality slider, it picks up sound and the background color of the screen, but that is all. If I try to go to 'Options', it stops responding. If I try to change to Component, it stops responding. Etc, etc.

Well, when I came to the forums, I expected someone to help me and/or walk me through fixing this... Not tell me how much of an idiot I am. I've read through these forums, and there's people who I'm surprised were smart enough to get here in the first place. Yeah, sure, I have no clue how this thing works, but that's why I'm here, isn't it? I'm having a problem, and I want it fixed, simple as that.

Which would be implying I'm not PC savvy.. which, depending on the area, is false.

I've checked and rechecked every aspect, I've rebooted, restarted, used different cables, trying them in different order, used them on different devices.. to the best of my knowledge, it simply quit on me. Still get the light and all that, but it's reverted back to not even opening 'Capture' again.

All I want is to get this thing back up and running so I can get back to recording and uploading videos :P

What do you need to know about the driver exactly? I have the window pulled open here.

Also, just checked the status again. It is stuck on 'Component' and the Red 'No Signal' changed to a red 'Capture Device'

Also/Also, if you want me to check to see if it picks up signal from another device(DVD player), could I use a Ps3 instead?

Unplug your x box and plugin the HDMI to a DVD Player and see if it shows as source able to capture in the software?

Yes that is what I meant ;)

This way you can test it to try to pin down where the problem is!

The Red, 'no signal' indicates that the RCG device is being recognized and implies that the Driver is installed...

You didn't directly answer the Device Manager/Driver question ^_^

1: I repaired it. That fixed the launch issue, but now it has an issue running.

2. I sure hope so.

3. Logitech G35 Headset, NVIDIA High Definition Audio(x4), Roxio GameCAP HD Pro, VIA High Definition Audio.

4. The No Signal is red.

5. It is hooked up from the Xbox 360 to the pc / tv screen

6. HDMI from Xbox to RGC input. USB from RGC to computer. HDMI From RGC to Tv.

7. I don't really understand that last part.

??? what happened since THIS topic?

Can we move forward with this now?

What shows in your Device Manager with the device plugged in?

What color in the "No Signal", red or green?

What do you have hooked up to the RGC?

HOW?

What happens when you try another device like a DVD or BD Player fro the source?

I've recorded, edited, and upload 25 videos over the last month+ with no issues, and no wires or settings have been changed since then.

Omitted information that should of been included in your first post, so anyone trying to help you doesn't waste their time wading through questions you could of provided upfront!

Your statement above proves something on your computer changed. Who better than you knows what changed?

1. Yes, if possible, that would be extremely helpful. Isn't that the point of this forum?

2. I realize that, and I know you are capable of directly helping me rather than sending me on a scavenger hunt that I learn nothing from.

3. But you can at least help me rather than.. well.. ^

4. Yes

5. Yes.

6. I don't remember at all.. it was done over a month ago.

Extra info: As far as wires and settings go, they should be fine; I've recorded, edited, and upload 25 videos over the last month+ with no issues, and no wires or settings have been changed since then. My computer specifications are well beyond what is needed for the card, and that was proved over the last month.

I've already read many other posts, and now I've gone and read ALL of them related to mine. 0 of them have a fix for it. The only thing that would even apply to it is a repair, which I've done twice. Now, if I could kindly get some actual help with the problem, it'd be great.

You want spoon-fed pre-chewed easy-to-digest fix it information?

We are users like yourself trying to help other users.

We can't reach out and slap your PC or software with a stick and fix it.

Does the driver show in the correct location in device manager?

Are you connected correctly?

Did you plugin the RGC USB Device before installing the software?

Search through the posts, in this forum. You will see a number of possible fixes for your problem, but YOU have to do the reading.
