Rndrobin
I successfully completed a project consisting of a JPG slideshow with audio consisting of .wav files. I began a second project with JPG slideshow and as soon as I went to "add audio" and Creator NXT opened the music folder, I got the msg VideoWave encountered a problem and terminated Creator. The music folder originally contained only files that had been used successfully in the first project. I can't get out of this. Help!
sknis
Did you just try rebooting?
Rndrobin
I rebooted, in fact I just did a remove/reinstall of Creator NXT and the problem still persists. As soon as I hit add audio and the music folder is opened, the Creator either gets a "VideoWave error" msg and shuts Creator down or Creator just crashes. I am running on Windows 8 on a Dell XPS 8500.

bimicher
I am getting this same error. same situation as Rndrobin Do you have exactly the same computer, system etc as Rndrobin? Are you doing exactly the same project? If no then it is not the same situation and you should start your own thread with some useful information. Rndrobin
I found some discussion of this problem but I also found a workaround. I am running Windows 8 on a Dell XPS8500. I found that if I opened a new folder on the desktop and populated it with the audio clips I wanted to use, VideoWave would still fail and crash Creator NXT. But, if I took an audio clip from the first project and added that to the folder on the desktop, there was no failure. I can't explain the phenomena, but if I removed the audio clip from the prior project, it would fail again. I took care to clear the folder fom the desktop before I started a third project and following the same process, I had no problem.
ashleyhewson
I am having the same problem using Video Wave. It worked OK on my XP 3 SP computer but will not add files or save the file on my new computer in Windows 7 Home edition. It is very frustrating as I can not use the program and there appears to be no help out there. Does anyone know why this is happening, I have tried relaoding program and repairing it but it continues to occur. The problem it says is an 'APPCRASH'. Jim_Hardin
Short Version: (repair install) First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Now insert your Roxio Disc (download version - run Install) Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.
