Thanks, I did look at the above information that you sent. Did you know the difference between iZotope RX2 Advanced and SoundSoap Pro 2.1 ?

The link that you sent me to is for a product that does not even come close to these abilities. It appears to be not as configurable, or adjustable as

the sotware by Bias and the RX 2 Advanced. RX2 Advanced noise reduction system is far superior to the iZitope Music and Speach Cleaner.

I want a replacement, not a downgrade ! Sound Editor that comes with Roxio does as good as the base version of iZotope, including its abilties of VST

plug-ins and other noise reduction and adjustments ! I like to be able to adjust the balance of stereo for left and right etc.. The iZotope video showing

the adjustments and options for Music and Speach cleaner is devoid, of much that is available in the other software (including sound Editor by Roxio) and

other adjustments that that I have mentioned.

Also, Spectral cleaning is missing and this is invaluable for hard to remove and transient noise. If all I wanted is click/Pop and hiss reduction there are

many free VST plug-ins that I have tested in the past that do almost if not as good as this lower cost software.

The only other software that I often wished that I had, but cost is far out of reach, is Celemony Capstan. I have tapes from the late 50's that have alot

of wow and flutter. For the price of approximately $4,500 I probably could purchase CD releases of each tape.

Gone are the days that private individuals can afford higher grade software! There is an extremely large diffeerence between software of just a short

time ago and the $1,500 to $5,000 ranges of today.

Maybe BIAS should have been selling their software for $1,500 instead of dirt cheap. Maybe that's the reason they went belly up. :)

:D

I liked Bias SoundSoap, why not buy out this closed down company and add these capibilities ot Sound Editor ?

Bias cannot be moved to another computer or reinstalled unless the software can connect to the manufacturer. :(

Try clicking on the FAQ'S and scroll down to SoundSoap.

This is a new computer ! To authorize it, you must de-authorize it first and then re-authorize

it for a different computer !

All authorizations and de-authorizations go through Bias web pages, which

are no longer in existence !

In their pages it list that the email used is linked some how. I have a

new email address as I upgraded when I went to Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit. This linkage cannot

be changed, due to not having a webpage to contact and change it on !

I have the serial number and the actual code of the original authorization but cannot input

it as a spefic file with an extension of ".x" is required and encoded for the computer that

you are installing it on.

:( To bad they did not put this software in public domain, or supply a universal fix for this problem !

I don't know if this page will help, but after you click on the following URL, click on BIAS Authorization Methods:

Please read this and look at the links. You seem to be upset and seem to have a closed mind. We didn't have anything to do with Bias going out of business. I suspect that their protection scheme had a lot to do with it.

In my post above, I asked if you wanted something more and suggested GoldWave (link). Did you read that part? Did you look at the their web site? It costs $49. Not more unless you want to add something special. You can trial it.

Look at Audicity.

If they don't do what you want, then you are looking at a lot more money.

Remember the old adage about horse and water?

]Bias cannot be moved to another computer or reinstalled unless the software can connect to the manufacturer.[/b]

However, this is not useful, as they require that Bias web pages be up and running !

Earlier versions of SoundSoap did not have this type of protection but from version 2.x this

is required. Regrettaably I have version 2.1 Pro. None of what Bias list on their pages

is in the least helpful.

Never tell me never.. ;)

I just reinstalled C2011 Pro and authorized it.

Are you using a different email than what you used the first time you authorized it?

Thanks to every one mentioning Bias Authorization methods !

Also thanks for the provided links !

I have read that iZotope has a better software and then again some say not as good.

Which ever it is, I don't want to have to keep spending $200.00 every couple of years.

I don't do this for a business, I'm just a private individual .

In my posting of 10 February 2013-06:21 PM

I said, that I have a new email address. In our area we have finally went to

cable TV and now Fiber optics. This necessitated changing providers. In addition

the X file was lost when my old computer (and an subsiquent computer went down).

The old telephone system hardly provided 512 Kb per second. Windows 7

upgrades would take hours (unless the provider dropped you off for being

on for an extended time, which they quite often did).

In my original posting, I did not say that the problem was with Roxio !

I mentioned that it would be nice if they purchased this closed out company.

The postings for Bias said that they closed for an in company interpersonal

relationship problelms. It never mentioned that they were in any difficuty with monitary

flow of any sort.

I still believe, that the Aquisition of the now defunct Bias company would

put Roxio above and beyond the rest of the competition. This would be

especially true it could be a combo package thet included Creator ! :)

If I could receive an original one of the X files, perhaps I could replace

the serial number, the registration number and if included the email

address. I have all of these listed but cannot recreate a file that I no

longe have!

So you have a different email address, authorize it with the old email address, have you forgot what it was?

The X file you refer to is what, the installation disc's\download software from the older Roxio Software with Bias CD Key?

Why are you going on about your old telephone system and W-7 updates, is it relevant?

You said the deactivation\activation servers were not working?

I never deactivated any Bias Software, I just reinstalled and authorized it when you said you couldn't! ;)

Now your going on that Corel\Roxio should by the defunct company and some how it would make them king of the hill?

So this thread is just about complaining and giving business advice?

Some one, just said that this posting was just complaining.

They also said that I hadn't read other postings. It is obvious

that they did not even read or understand, that the original posting

was a suggestion !

I commented on all of the responses that I received. I only mentioned

my problems with registering SoundSoap in response to some of the postings,

it was an explanation of why I had problems registering it for my new computer.

Alsoi these statments were to show what it was that SoundSoap Pro 2 was

and why I liked it so much. I liked it so much that is why I made the suggestion!

If that poster had read all of my postings they would have seen that I did read,

respond and comment on all of them.

If rereading the total posting doesn't show that I originally posted as a suggestion,

at least they could read all of my replies before saying I did not comment on any

of them. The complaining and advice as they put it, was in reply to others' postings

and no so much as complaint, as it was why these suggestions would not help me.

Perhaps they should read the whole list of responses and replies before getting

personal!

I would suggest you read what you wrote WRONG in your FIRST post.

I asked if you had the Pro version of Creator NXt;

Izotope (lite) is included in the Pro version of NXT. It might have been on a separate disc. Do you have the Pro and if so, did you look for the other disc?

I just received this email: I would suggest you read what you wrote WRONG in your FIRST post.

The first post was two (2) sentences: First a suggestion and second an expllination of why SoundSoap can't be used by me.

Thus suggesting, that this software company be bought out or added to Roxio to allow its use.

Question: To person sending me the email, What is wrong with sentence number 1 ?.

Second Question: If stating that a peerson can't use software and suggesting that it be purchased by someone else to allow its use is wrong, Please state how !

Third Question: Why not post here when getting personal, instead of sending an email ?

I don't know anyone who would send you an e-mail. All frequent posters would send you a private message and that message would have their name on it.

Perhaps, did you get an e-mail that said someone was responding in your thread? If you signed up for that, that is what you would have received.

You compounded the problem by saying that you didn't have a program that worked as well and that other would cost too much. Since you complained (perhaps I read that wrong) that you could not activate Sound Soap I just offered you alternatives that were cost effective. Forgive me for trying to help. I misunderstood that all you wanted to do was to rant.

Good-bye and have fun.

Thanks for the valuable information.

I haven't upgraded to the newest version as a reply from the sales department about upgrading

indicated that there would be no additional benefit for doing so.

Can you tell me if this is a limited version of iZotope? Or, is it limited is some way?

It is Izotope Music and Speech Cleaner version 1.02.167. The commercial product sells for $40 (US) on line. It is quick and easy; sort of like Sound Soap.

If you are looking for something MORE powerful, look at GoldWave (free trial). It will give you everything and more. I don't know what the current price is.

I looked at the software listed and find only iZotope RX2 Advanced is equivalent or appears to be better than Bias SoundSoap Pro 2.1 .. :P

The cost is $1,4000 and that is to much for me  . Especially as I have spent so much in the past for an equilivent product that cost in the

$200.00 range (less for upgrades from the two previous copies).

I don't make money doing this, it is for my own archiving of music that I have had for over 50 or more years.

I guess I'm just out of luck, I'm retired and on a fixed income.
