Capture From Pulldown Is Blank

GlennJr

Question

Brand new copy of Creator Pro 2012. Registered it earlier today, the email back did not have a support code, just a plug for their other products.

When I try to use "easy audio capture", it has a pulldown menu entitled "capture from", but then the pulldown options are all blank. I was expecting to see my sound card possibly in the list, or something else to let me tell it what sound to capture, but the list is blank. My card is Realtek HD Audio, if that helps any.

That's what I was expecting. But my pulldown list has no entries at all to choose from. Everything should be installed, I can get sounds from the computer, no problem. Just can't get Roxio to recognize the drivers (at least that's what I think the problem is).

You should get entries something like this, as long as the drivers for your sound card are installed.

I have Win XP, so my boxes aren't exactly the same as your screen shots. But I'm not finding anything that would indicate a disabled device.

If it helps, I can get sound out of my speakers, I think the sound card is functioning, I just can't get Roxio to recognize it.

Update the drivers for your Audio device (here). I don't know if that will help or not but it should not hurt.

I've forgotten how those boxes in XP should look but the other posters in this thread probably can give you more help.

By the way, even when you get that card/chip working, you will probably not be able to hear what you are capturing.

sknis - I did the update, that didn't seem to change anything. My problem isn't that I can't hear anything. The speakers are working fine. I just can't select what the source is for the recordings.

cdanteek - That does look like what I've got. Thanks.
