Burn Mac Cd - Simple Folder With Background Image

doughacker

Question

I want to make a CD that's very simple, and I'm having trouble doing it.

All I want is a CD with two files on it that auto opens. When it opens it shows the two files positioned in a window with large icons. The window has a background image. Simple right? Nope

I found these instructions for Toast 8

http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/44083-hybrid-cd-w-autorun-pc-background-image-mac/

but they no longer work. When I close then remount my image nothing is saved. Quite often after a few Mount/Unmounts i get a hard crash on my machine. Macbook Pro - Mountain Lion - Latest version of Toast.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I can do it with a DMG file but I don't want that - I literally want to ship a CD with just two files on it. Yes, I know it's 2013 :-)

Thanks

I haven't done this but it might work to create a temporary image file via the Toast Utilities window, add the files in the Finder to that image and lay it out the way you want, and then burn that image using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.
