Won't Burn Image File After Conversion

caro_lyn7

Question

I spent 16 hours converting 3.6 GB of video recovered from a corrupted disc, over to DVD Image file to enable burning to a DVD, and now it won't do anything. It created the image file ok, but it won't burn it to DVD, and since it is not in proper DVD format, my other burning software programs won't pick it up at all. I get no error messages, I press the big gold button on the bottom, it goes grey for about 5 seconds, and comes back to gold again and sits there doing nothing. I had installed a blank DVD and asked that it convert directly to the DVD drive but it wouldn't do that either.

Now how do I get this file back on a DVD. This is the information from my software

Thanks for any help you can offer.

How did you recover the 3.6GB file if the disc was corrupted?

What format is it in? You say "over to DVD Image file" and "but it won't burn it to DVD, since it is not in proper DVD format".

I used DiscInternals CD/DVD recovery program. it recovered the files with no problems, I can watch the videos on my computer using either VSO media player or Classic media player. I used Roxio Easy DVD copy 4, movie compilation to convert it to an image file - it has the Roxio icon and Roxio Image File written beside it with the size. Now, however, it won't do anything else, it won't burn it to a DVD.

I tried my other burning software programs, but because this file is not in VOB format, they won't recognize this image file. my Roxio program should burn it but it just sits there and tells me nothing.

What did DiscInternals CD/DVD recovery program extract the files as, what file format?

I don't understand if it made it a DVD Video Image file why it won't burn it?

What other type of image could it of made?

What does the image properties say about it?

If you created an image file you will of course not "see" any vob file.

What is the extension on the image file?

discinternals recovered the videos as "type:movie clip", there is an icon of a film strip with MPEG stamped on the bottom. If you have used Roxio easy DVD copy 4, under compilation, you have three choices in the top right corner - disc/disc image - file/folder - portable device. I chose DVD format and disc/disc image, and clicked on 'burn'. instead of burning and saving this disc image, it only saved the disc image. now I can't get it to burn that disc image to a DVD. Oh and 'burning' this disc/disc image to my harddrive took another 15 hours to complete.
