Roxio Gamecapturepad Has Stopped Working, Close Program Error Message

Hello everybody,

 

I am trying to use the roxio gamecapture hd pro software but I get the error message below:

 

 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software many a times, but with no success. I can drive to where the capture software is and use it but the videowave part crashes just like this.

 

Computer Specs:

 

16 GB of Ram

AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core 3.6GHz

AMD Radeon HD 6950 Graphics

I think what you want to do is try a repair but make sure you do it this way...

 

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

 

Remove the Device and set it aside for later.

 

Now insert your Roxio Disc - run Install.

 

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

 

When you reach the screen where

Repair

is offered, choose that!

 

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

I tried your suggesstion to no avail. I think what could be a problem is maybe it is not finding the updates it needs to. And when I go to the site to get the service pack for the roxio software, the file is not there. Searching for another way to get that update.

Open the program, then select Capture, click on Help, then About ...if you see this. you have the latest update.

Yes, I was finally able to obtain the latest update. Seems to be something else going on. Been checking the event viewer to see what has been happening when it opens, this seems to be an common occurrence.

The ONLY fix is what I outlined above...

 

Probably need to print it out and check off each item as you perform it

I shall try again. Sometimes it can take multiple tries to get it to work just right.

Keep us informed ~ you are right I have seen it take up to 3 tries sometimes!

So after about 2 times of doing your fix and then uninstalling and reinstalling and applying all the necessary updates to the .net framework, it seems to be staying stable for now. So, woo!!
