Photosuite 13 Has Stopped Working - Fogs Out On File Open Or Save

vernierdial

Question

creator 2012, photosuite 13, was working fine during the summer. Now it fails to open files - will grey out / fog over the screen, and eventually get a dialog "photosuite 13 has stopped working" and then it closes. If have photosuite open and double-click a picture in explorer, it will appear in photosuite, it can be edited. However, trying to do file/save yields the very same fogged over windows and the same not responding failure.

Based on what little i found online, have already used revo uninstaller to remove creator 12, then reinstalled, still have the very same problem.

oh - win7 64bit, 4gb ram, pentium G630, hdd 3/4 empty, been scanned for virus, no other programs having any problems.

Following this, http://corel.force.c...kA060000000L3eQ

Put the disc in a drive and when the installer offers repair run it and reboot the PC,

Post back if that helped.

windows update are (and were already) current. The directx issue is taken care of by windows updates. The link for dvd firmware updates is dead, but i checked the dell website, there aren't any.

The repair from cd ran fine, made no difference, not surprising considering i just did a complete uninstall and reinstall, which also did not fix the problem.

I should mention this problem happens if photosuite is started from Creator, or if it is started stand-alone. VideoWave also has this problem. The data burning app and the music editing app both work fine, but they don't use File/Open, they have an Add+ button...

Anything else that can be examined? This is such a basic problem, there must be some way to create a log or dump or something...
