What kind of data cd did you make - an mp3 disc? Did you have video on it? Just plain old data? What application did you use?

<<<i burned recorded music from my mobile recorder. The songs were downloaded & filed on my laptop. when i went to burn the songs the Only format that even worked was DATA mp3 the disc i used - CD-R 1x52x

I commented on the "Like" because someone (perhaps you) clicked on the red "Like This" near the bottom of each post.. Perhaps it wasn't you.

I would suspect that the bit rate of the mp3 files is the problem. Make sure they all 128 kbps. Anything much higher or lower than that will be a problem for some programs. I know you are using cds but make sure you are buying good quality discs and burning at a rate lower than the maximum. Also make sure your hard drive (unless it is solid state) is defragged/optimized.

Let us know what bit rate the mp3s are. . Right click on a couple of the files and select details to find out.

I'm assuming that the mp3 files are from a source that doesn't have copy protection on them (like some from ITunes).

Have you talked to RealPlayer about this or looked at their web site. Real is a very proprietary format that not many other software packages will handle the format. If they are RL format, then that will give you issues trying to convert to a standard mp3 format.

Hey guys. This is the general part of the forum where there doesn't have to be any Roxio product involved. That is why I commented on Real Player since he mentioned that above..

Hi Steve,

the header of this topic is: -

Unable To Play, Burn Or Rip Any Roxio Data Cd.

That's why we're asking which Roxio product the OP is using.

Regards,

Brendon
