Roxio Game Capture Hd Pro Editing Problem

Nintendofan204

Question

I have a huge problem that is happening to me when I edit or upload my recorded video.

So when I record New Super Mario Bros Wii and New Super Mario Bros U, whenever the game transitions to another screen, (going through a pipe mainly), the recording kind of stutters a bit. Here's when the problem really begins: When I put the video in Windows Movie Maker to edit it, it doesn't work right. The problem will keep freezing when I choose to go to a different art of the video, and the screen will stay black after I go through a pipe in the video. Yet if I skip over me going in the pipe, I can watch later parts of the video...

So pretty much, when the game loads or if the screen turns completely black for a second, it gets screwy with Windows Movie Maker. So I tried seeing if I could upload it without editing it and get no problem. But after it was uploaded, the whole video was just a black screen. And every once in awhile it would stuttter, but there would be no picture.

What else is weird, is that when I view the footage on Windows Media Player, it's completely fine. The only problem is that it will do like a half a second stutter sometimes when the game is loading. But it is very minimal and it's completely watchable.

So can someone please explain to me: What the HECK is going on? Why does it do this during loading screens, and what can I do to fix the problem? This is the weirdest glitch/problem I have ever experienced. I am not liking this capture card so far, and I am thinking about selling it if I don't get a solution soon. I just bought this thing recently, and it can't even record without giving me problems. I have a Youtube channel, and I haven't uploaded in the past couple of weeks because of this. I have viewers who are waiting for new videos, and I need a solution as fast as possible.

Thanks you in advance to all of you who try to help me. I would really appreciate it if you would reply to this if you even have ANY clue on how to fix the problem. Thanks again.

Not sure I even understand it???

What does WMM have to do with anything?

Believe me, I understand your confusion. I use WMM to edit my videos. When I put them in to edit, it is very slow and the video and audio disappear when a transition happens in the game. It only comes back when I pause the video. Everything plays fine in Windows Media Player, so at first I thought WMM was just being weird. I tried uploading the raw footage to YouTube, and the entire vidoe was messed up. There was no video or audio, just a black screen. (Along with the occasional screen flicker)

I could try recording again sometime tomorrow. Maybe something is wrong with my HDMI cable? I recorded a 7 minute video a couple weeks ago, and everything was pretty much fine in that. But ever since then, I have been expereincing the problems I explained. If you know what the problem could be, please tell me. And I will try again tomorrow to see if it has something to do with the HDMI cable, or something else. (such as my laptop being plugged in, cause weird crap like that has affected things like this in the past).

What exacly is VideoWave, and how do I get to it?

And I have actually tried RGC's editor. It's OK, but another problem arises when I try to split (cut out) parts of the footage. The video cuts, but not the audio. So if I were to cut out the first 5 minutes of the video, the original 5 minutes of audio that were supposed to be cut out would still be playing at the beginning. How do I split both the audio AND the video?

And I am about to try a capture again after I post this. Unless I post something else after this saying so, I still have not solved the main problem.

Well yeah, I know THAT! But I still don't understand what's wrong with the splitting tool...

Quoted from my other post: "another problem arises when I try to split (cut out) parts of the footage. The video cuts, but not the audio. Well, I tried splitting it again, and I didn't encounter the audio problem that I previously mentioned. I will try uploading a video through VideoWave tomorrow, (since I don't have time right now), and then I will get back to you on if it works or not.

Thanks for the help so far.

Well, I uploaded a 40-second test video, and everything seems fine. I guess I'll just have to use the Roxio Editor, for now at least. I think I can adjust to it.

While my original problem with Movie Maker wasn't directly solved, the video I uploaded works fine. So I think I'll mark the topic as solved. Hopefully I don't have anymore problems, but if I do, it's good to know I can resort to these forums for help.

Thanks again for the help.
