Captures Though Hdmi From Cable Box But Not Xbox360

I am having problems getting the video to come through from the xbox 360. It works fine from my cox cable box, but it show no signal coming from the XBOX360. I am using HDMI in and out, and I have checked all the settings within the XBOX360 including output formats, etc. I did go through this forum and tried many of the things listed but at this point still get a no signal error. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

What color is the No Signal?

 

I have no idea what a "cox box" is, but it seems to indicate you don't have your Xbox set to use HDMI

Since the device works when you put the cable signal through it I'd tend to suspect something not set correctly on the XBox.

Ok its a Cox cable box that it works with, but I get a no signal in green when the xbox is plugged in. The xbox is setup to hdmi video output and I have tried the different formats such as 420p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. I have even messed with the hdmi color space settings and still get nothing. Any other settings that I am missing?

And other times it shows no signal in red.

When the signal is Green it indicates the device in not even plugged into the PC!

 

Red indicates that the device is being recognized properly but it is not receiving a signal...

 

So it seems to work fine, but you are not outputting from your Xbox

Thanks for the response Jim, I am going to try using an HD component cable today and see if it changes anything. Otherwise I am not sure what else I can do other then returning the unit. Is there anything other settings on the Xbox that I could be missing?

Yes it works fine directly into the TV, and I have tried switching out hdmi cables to verify it wasn't a cable issue. Didn't get time to try the hd componet cable tonight but tomorrow for sure. I will keep you posted and again thanks for the replies.

So finally got around to trying the component cable and it does work. So to clarify I am using component out from the xbox, and hdmi into the tv. The downside is the picture has small waves on the TV problaby. a result of using the component out from the xbox. Truely disappointed to say the least so going to try a few more things and might try another productt if I can get it working using hdmi. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thx

Of course the HDMI should work ~ is it an actual MS Xbox HDMI cable???

 

OR have you at least tried different HDMI cables with it? (Xbox to RGC)
