Recording In 720P, But Uploading To Youtube Seems To Downgrade It..

Reaperzzz18

Question

So I recently bought the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro and have been having a lot of issues with uploading to Youtube in HD. That's the whole reason I bought the HD Pro so that I could record my Xbox 360 gameplay in HD and then upload it to Youtube in HD. In saying that, when I am initially capturing my footage I have set it to HD 720p under the options in the Capture program and have changed my Xbox 360 display settings to 1080i. I seem to be able to capture the gameplay in HD and even when I'm working with it in Videowave it seems to still remain in HD. However when I'm trying to upload it to Youtube the maximum quality that I get is 480p which I could have gotten with the standard roxio game capture.

When I'm done editing my videos I render them through Videowave and choose the settings of NTSC and Windows Media Video 9, 1920x1080 VBR. I have heard that this is the best setting in order to get HD quality on youtube, but clearly this hasn't worked. I have gone through all sorts of forums as well as tutorials on youtube, but nothing seems to work. If anyone can please help me fix this problem that would be fantastic. I'll post a link to the one video (had others, but deleted them due to their poor quality) so you can see what I'm talking about. I'll also put my computers specs in case that helps.

PS I'd also like to say now that I would prefer avoiding any advanced technical jargon as I may not be able to understand it, however I'm not a complete idiot with a computer.

haha, yeah I do know how to view it in HD on Youtube , but honestly when I had uploaded the videos and checked them it wouldn't let me have the option to view them in HD. I had made a few videos on Youtube and had waited for like three days, but still wasn't showing it in HD. So that why I decided to post this on the forum, since it just seemed like nothing that I was doing was working. The only thing I had changed from my previous videos was choosing the 720p format in the Capture program. Before I had chosen the 1080i to record the first videos I had captured, but like I said days had gone by and I still wasn't able to view it in HD. At least now I know the steps that I need to take to upload the videos to Youtube in HD. Thanks for your response.

So Windows Media Video 9, 1920x1080 VBR output is the best way to convert gameplay videos for upload on youtube in 1080p? Because there are lots of options

WRONG!

Use whatever you want, but keep in mind YouTube will change things based on your account prevledges and file sizes...

This really is bs, I just got everything together, recorded a good clip, and uploaded it to youtube and its 360p. How do you upload in HD? You're really not helping

Did you check with youTube how to upload in HD?

Why did you resurrect an 18 month old thread?

We don't run YouTube ASK Them! (I did so long ago I forgot what is needed)

Also do you have a link to the clip you uploaded there? I just want to make sure that higher resolution playback isn't really in it ;)

Edit: I found some notes I made:

YouTube Limits = 20 GB 15 minutes

With Increase, 128 GB or 11 hours

Resolution,
