Xbox Display Setting 480P Only!

ok so i have an hd tv and i record with hd component cables. If i dont have my component cables plugged in the roxio hd pro and i have them plugged in normaly in the xbox i can set the display settings up to 1080p. But when i plug the cables in correctly to the roxio hd pro and i go to the display settings to set the output to 1080p it only lets me do 480p. And when i click 720p or 1080p my tv goes black. please help because i know my tv can handle the settings but it just goes black.

Well when I play xbox and record (I have the xbox hd cable plugged in the roxio hd pro) I play in 480p. That is in the Display Settings on the xbox. Now when I DON'T have the xbox hd cable plugged into the roxio hd pro and I have the component cord plugged in the tv (like how you would normaly play without the roxio), I can set the display setting to 1080p just fine, but when I plug the cord into the roxio to start recording it only lets me select 480p.

Are you sure that You've flipped the switch to HDTV and not TV on the Component cable?

That's just an "off the top of my head" response.

 

Also try turning off Display Discovery on the XBox.

The Xbox may be auto sensing something incorrectly.

 

Don't have the time right now to try it.

I'd have to hook it all up to my TV and try.

By the way I play in component cables so I don't have recovery option since that is for HDMI. I might add that when the screen goes black when I click 720p, or 1080i I can see the screen on my preview screen on the roxio hd pro recording software. Weird right?

Ok my problem is that when I record my Xbox Display Settings only goes to 480p when I have everything hooked up to the Roxio HD PRO. BUT when I have the cord JUST plugged into the TV and into the XBOX (How you would normaly play without a Roxio) my display settings allow me to go up to 1080i. But everytime I plug ALL the cords into the roxio hd pro like normal and go to the display settings and click on 720p OR 1080i the screen will go black and I can only select 480p. The cords said it can handle 1080i footage, so I don't think that is the problem. But if it is the cord then would someone please send me a link to another cord I can buy. Please respond!!
