george2013
Can't get Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning to work on either my home or work computers. At home, after about a hour of "burning", it will spit out the CD or DVD and say "Unsuccessful burn". At work, it's : There was a problem activating your product. This could be due to: Invalid product key. ???? Come on, Roxio....checking out the - what appears to be thousands - of complaints on your forums, I must conclude that Roxio is a swindle. I will do my best to spread the word on their inferior products. Please people, warn others about the crap that is Roxio!

george2013
If I recall correctly, I purchased it at a Circuit City store, but I'll double check that when I go home. And no....that is not the error. It is EXACTLY as I posted. On one computer, after about a hour of "burning", it will spit out the CD or DVD out and say "Unsuccessful burn". On the other computer, here is the EXACT error message (I copied and pasted, btw: There was a problem activating your product. This could be due to: Invalid product key. Come on, it can't work on 2 different computers?

If you install it on two computers at the same time you would be in violation of the single use user agreement (EULA) you agreed to when you first installed it! george2013
OK, well.....let's not skirt around the issue. 1. It NEVER WORKED on the first computer I installed it on. 2. I UNINSTALLED IT on that computer. 3. I installed it on a 2nd computer and got the error message I related to you. So, it was never installed on more than one computer at any time. NOW...can we get back to how I can get it to work on A computer (either / or) and not try to pin it on me being "greedy"? Hmmm?
cdanteek
There was a problem activating your product. This could be due to: Invalid product key. We are talking about Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 Software? What operating system are you trying to install it on? Is this a download or a retail boxed version with a disc? sknis
or this one (link)? You threw us off where you started your thread. At work, you may have a firewall blocking access to the correct site. What are you trying to burn to the cd or dvd? What burner do you have and what burn speed are you using? What brand of disc are you using? We have to get the easy questions out of the way before we can trouble shoot your main problem.

He never through me off, because he posted in EMC6 forum, or did you move it here before he told us what version he had? EMC6 downloads need a special activation and those servers are down, the box version never needed that! The rest of your questions read the post title. sknis
Look at post 1 The OP says Easy CD and DVD Burning "Can't get Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning to work on either my home or work computers". It is only later that he changes the burning to Creator. What I posted was a link to that product. This may be an esoteric exercise if the OP doesn't come back. Brendon
Easy CD and DVD Creator version 3.4 On my home computer it was Windows XP service pack 2 Work computer is Windows 7 Retailed box version with disk, purchased at a Best buy (not a Circuit City as I had previously stated) There is no Easy CD and DVD Creator version 3.4 in the Roxio stable. Easy CD and DVD Creator is the name given only to version 6 of the Creator series. Adaptec's Easy CD Creator version 3 never made it to version 3.4. Joboshare have a DVD Creator version 3.4 is that what you have? Please examine your box and software, and come back to us with the correct version. sknis
The OP hasn't been back for awhile: I looked all over and could not find the version number for Easy CD and DVD burning. I found the program as shown in my post that linked to the sale site and have found the Getting Started Guide (Here). It discusses the capabilities, applications and installation. This is a Kb article about burning in general that may offer a solution. The program is Win 7 compatible but not W8 compatible. Could this be another activation issue at Best Buy? If the OP ever comes back we can suggest he return it to Best Buy for activation or just return it because it never worked. Perhaps they could have someone in their store install it as a demo. Edit: The OP hasn't been back since he posted the last information. Perhaps he was scared off or just already returned the program.
Brendon
I looked all over and could not find the version number for Easy CD and DVD burning. Hi Steve, There may have been an earlier version when Roxio first sold Easy CD and DVD burning [in the red box], but the main version for years was 9.0.554 and the current version is 10.3.104 [modified for Win 7]. There is also a Dell version around, just to confuse things. The easiest way for a user to tell which version he has, is that version 9 has a blue icon and Drag-to-Disc, while 10 has a black icon and doersn't have Drag-to-Disc. Having said all this, George2013, which do you have so we can help you? Brendon
