gerry_57
I purchased Roxio NXT so I could create RealD output. It is missing from my menu selection. I only have anaglyph or half width (side by side). Does anyone know why? I attached a screen shot.
sknis
Where did you read that you could do RealD with Creator NXT? It was an option in Creator 2012 Pro. My 3D DVD options are the same as yours. In Creator 2012, the display shows Anaglyph and RealD. If you just bought it from the Roxio store, request a refund. Many of us belive that NXT is a huge step backwards.
edo1946
I have same problem. Do I have to buy the 19 dollar blue ray authoring download addon to be able to get quality blue ray 3d? Is that the RealD option? The half width dvd that I have tried seems to have pretty lousy quality. The video tutorial shows reald as an option so this is very misleading. What version of NXT do you have? The Pro has it included. If you don't have the Pro, I don't think that you would have a blu ray option; neither 2D or 3D. Are you starting with a 3D or 2D video. Is it from Video Wave or a separate capture from a 3D camcorder? Please post a screenshot of what you see when you open Create DVD (the selection screen.) Also post the results of a dxdiag evaluation of your computer.
edo1946
I have the Roxio Creator NXT version 14.0.36.0; 5.0.0.0 I get the same options as Gerry 57 above.. identical screen I am using Fuji camera for 3d stills and video. No blue ray option. It is offered it appears for a $19 upgrade. So far I have barely been able to produce one hi def short 3d dvd test which seems to work. The quality of that was good I will have to say. All other attempts of creating a full disk have resulted in frozen encoding screens or the following error message after an hour or 2 of encoding. Project_BuildToDevice() AuthorScript call failed. Error while Writing Format Very painful so far.. I cant get my whole vacation on the dvd disk size in hd so I suppose I will have to try the blue ray upgrade. I am not sure if the reald is necessary, just the added blue ray space for now. If it will work for a change without errors or freezes. (i'll try and post the dxdiag later)

You will be limited to a DL DVD. That will allow you 1 Hour and 13 minutes @ HQ on one disc. And there cannot be any menus... That is as good as it gets until Roxio/Corel decide to offer something better Authorscript errors require you to pre-render your files in VideoWave before you start a MyDVD Project. ~ that is a different Topic so it should not be part of this one
edo1946
Thanks for the input . So this addon (see below from Roxio website) does what? makes nxt equivalent to pro? and with that comes capacity but nothing else in terms of quality? I'll see if I can fit my vacation onto one dvd I suppose. ( Also will try prerendering at??? 1280x720/60p??? who knows. I did it at 1920x something once before and it crashed the mydvd as well i'll look for a rendering thread if that doesn't work) . High-Def/Blu-ray Disc Plug-In for Creator NXT High-Def/Blu-ray Disc Plug-in for Creator allows you the ability to author high-definition video content on to Blu-ray discs! Included in Creator NXT PRO. $ 19.
Jim_Hardin
The Plug-in you referenced, adds the ability to do BD burning to NXT... BUT the NXT Pro Suite has other features in it too Being limited to 1:13 for a 3D Project, doesn't strike me as having my hands tied behind my back Are you shooting EVERYTHING in 3D? I recommend you grab a disc or 2 of Good DVD RW media (Verbatim, JVC) to use for testing... It only comes in 4.7 GB but tests should only be in the 5 10 minute range. I would keep everything in the same resolution that you shot it with! Probably 1920 X 1080??? Do some short samples different ways and try it out. Keep us informed ~ we all like to compare note
