Looking For Step By Step Instructions. How To Install Toast 11 Pro.

Huss417

Question

Hi,

I don't mean to ask a stupid question but is there anywhere that shows how to do this? I must be missing a step as when I get to the screen where it ask for the CD Key number once I enter it it does not light up the Enter leo to continue. I have tried looking for instructions before posting here to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

The most likely scenario is the registration key isn't entered correctly. The digit 1 and letter l and the digit 0 and letter O look very similar as do 8 and B. Try changing any of those that may be in doubt. You apparently bought this on disc, so I suggest going to Roxio's Software updates page and downloading the Toast 11.1 update. Install from that instead of what's on the disc. You'll still need to install the "Pro" version extras from the disc. Also see my pinned post at the top of this forum about what's included in the update because I mention updates available elsewhere to some third-party apps included with the Toast installation.

Also check the developers sites for the Pro-version extra apps to see if there are updates available for them as well. Some may have built-in update checkers but I don't know if all of them do that.

Thanks for the response. After several hours I finally found this fix on another blog. It seemed to do the trick. Funny this is supposed to be an easier/more user friendly version than my Toast 9. Hopefully from this point forward. :)

"Highlight Toast. Go to 'Get Info' and change permissions to Read & Write"

And sticking with the theme of "extremely buggy"When I pull up Toast and try to click the About Toast Titanium it is grey and not clickable. Same with Preferences, Show All and Quit Toast Titanium. I am trying to burn a disc at the moment so not sure if that is why they are greyed out? But thanks for the link tsantee. That is where I tried to do it earlier and it wouldnt let me.

Roxio added an "Assistant" window that appears when Toast launches. It is supposed to make it easier to select the kind of project you want. But I don't use it. I prefer going to the main window from the get go. That's the window you see after you click "Finish" at the bottom of the Assistant. When the Assistant is gone you can access the "About" and "Preferences".

If you don't want to use the Assistant in the future uncheck the box at the bottom left of the Assistant window. You can access the Assistant later by choosing "New from Assistant..." from the Toast File menu.
