Import Sound Problem

cdn1972

Question

Hello all.

I am having a problem creating a transfer with sound. I recorded video on my nikon P100, it has sound on the recording. It is recorded in .mov and in past recordings when I import the video for editing etc then to make a dvd the sound works.

Today for some reason no sound seems to be tranfered, any ideas what to check?

It worked in the past and now it doesn't; is that correct? What did you add/remove/update to your computer lately. Did you change the recording mode on the camcorder even by accident.

Check to see if you still have audio on one of the old captures. Is it possible that you changed the playback device?

Try using a free video converter for example "Any Video Converter" to encode the mov file to mpg2 and then see if that will work for you.

yes it has worked before and I have added nothing as far as programs or updates to this computer. I use this one for very little, that is why I do not understand where the audeo has gone? Is there an audeo control panel setting buried some place for intput?

The first place to check is in Windows - recording settings. Since you mod your computer, you probably know how to do it.

Did you try playing one of the old videos to see if the sound was there????

PLEASE read the entire response above; I didn't put it there to fill up the page. Do what I told you to do.

Unfortunatly I do not have any of my older clips as I delete them after making a DVD. I checked my windows settings and all is normal. The only thing I can think of is perhaps my anti virus has caused my Roxio to stop working. I have not used it since Feb when i installed 2013 Kasperski, you may have been right with the program idea, I forgot to include K when thinking of new programs.

Maybe i will try windows movie maker for a quick test, then if not I will look for a that converter you mentioned.
