Input Problem, Black Screen

Jon_P

Question

Hey everyone :).

Firstly id like to say I love my ROXIO HD PRO and have never had a problem with it until as of recently after not using it for about 2 weeks it hasnt worked properly. The first thing that happened was it kept coming up saying select device not found so I followed this http://forums.suppor...vice-not-found/ and it helped fix the problem but now all i have is a blank screen where it doesnt seem to be recieving input even tho the USB Device is working and the XBOX 360 is working on the TV. Also i am using a 2m USB extender which works great and has never had problems with.

This is my current setup

And this is what I am getting on my computer everytime i try and use it after unplugging it and reconnecting all the leads even reinstalling it all from CD.

Power Supply - OCZ 700W ModXstream PRO

DVD - Pioneer DVR-219BK 24x DVD DL Burner SATA Black

HD - 1TB Seagate 7200rpm SATA 6Gb/s HDD

Monitor - 23" Led Samsung monitor

The Video input now shows on the software but not on the TV, all i see on the TV is a tiny line on the left side of the screen blue and yellow and everytime i click capture the Xbox shows for a milisecond then dissappears. What do i do?

Robbster: Thanks for the pic!

Looks like you have a good working install now.

(the Drive must be installed for the pass through to work)

Please describe, in detail, what connects from the RGC pass through to your TV???

(remember I can't see it so I rely on your details)

Ok my setup is this, I'll try to describe it in as much detail as i can:

Xbox 360 Slim(the one with the touchscreen buttons) Connects to the INPUT of the Roxio Game Cap HD Pro, with HDMI. Then a HDMI cable connects from the OUTPUT of the Roxio game cap to the HDTV, into HDMI slot 3. Then the usb goes from the Roxio to my PC. I have Windows 8.

Anything else you need to know?

There are MANY things I still need to learn

The next thing would be that you cannot allow your TV to auto detect! You must manually set it to that HDMI 3 ;)

Again, the only way to test that is to try it on another Monitor/TV. (even if you have to con a mate into bringing one over :D )

Just so I know, you aren't using SCART anywhere in this mix, right?

I have tried 2 other tv's and they both said mode not supported :/, I also installed it on another computer and i got the exact same error as before. Nope I'm not using SCART. And ofc, i go to the channel HDMI 3, and i get 2 narrow verticle lines. on the left side of the screen thats it. :/

Hello??? Anyone!

You do understand this is a Forum and we don't work here??? Also (for me) there is a 5 to 8 hour time difference

I keep forgetting one subtle issue and that is HDCP compliance... An easy test is if to try a Monitor that uses Component input rather than HDMI!!!

Just hook up component from the Output side of the RGC to the Input of the TV/Monitor!

Again this may be a solution but is also a TEST ;)

If I ever face the red "No Signal" on my computer, I would usually :

Step 1 - Plug the Roxio HD Pro to my computer and Capture program.

Step 2 - Sees the red "No Signal" on the capture program (make sure it is on the correct input).

Step 3 - Disconnect the Roxio HD Pro (by pulling out the USB cable of course) without closing the Capture program.

Step 4 - Plug the RGC back in and wait.

Step 5 - Once there's footage on your TV close the Capture program.

Step 6 - Open the Capture program again and see.

It worked for me all the time ;)

I don't know if a have coverage :/ I bought it brand new off amazon.

I am running Windows 8 btw, it worked perfectly fine yesterday, now today BOOM it's dead. Seriously FIX THIS.

Nobody here is going to fix it :) This is not Roxio support. We are just users like you.

Something happened to your system between when it worked and now.
