Input Problem, Black Screen

Question

Hey everyone :).

Firstly id like to say I love my ROXIO HD PRO and have never had a problem with it until as of recently after not using it for about 2 weeks it hasnt worked properly. The first thing that happened was it kept coming up saying select device not found so I followed this http://forums.suppor...vice-not-found/ and it helped fix the problem but now all i have is a blank screen where it doesnt seem to be recieving input even tho the USB Device is working and the XBOX 360 is working on the TV. Also i am using a 2m USB extender which works great and has never had problems with.

This is my current setup

And this is what I am getting on my computer everytime i try and use it after unplugging it and reconnecting all the leads even reinstalling it all from CD.

Also here are my PC Specs:

CPU Cooler - Zalman CNPS10X

GPU - ASUS ATI Radeon HD 5870

RAM - 6gb tripple channel 1600mhz

Power Supply - OCZ 700W ModXstream PRO

DVD - Pioneer DVR-219BK 24x DVD DL Burner SATA Black

HD - 1TB Seagate 7200rpm SATA 6Gb/s HDD

Monitor - 23" Led Samsung monitor

Keyboard - Logitech G15 Keyboard

Mouse - Logitech HID

Operating System Windows 7 64Bit

Hope someone can help me out :)

That post is 4 pages long...

What PARTs of it did you follow?

Does it show up in your Device Manager - without any errors or warnings?

Did you try to feed it another Source?

I firstly went to Drive device and saw it was there checked for no errors but I even disabled it then reinstalled it then reconnected the wires then enables it after restarting plus turn off all my Firewall Anti virus etc. while doing so

and I even plug it into all my USB ports and still no picture just a black screen

Great. Thank you Jon!

First I recommend you try another Source ~ anything that has HDMI or Component output to see if the device will pick that up!

AND let's try a deeper repair for the Software:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

With the Device Plugged in, go into Device Manager and uninstall it!

Remove the Device and set it aside for later.

Now insert your Roxio Disc - run Install.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

(you may need to do this 2 or 3 times
;)

I just tried plugging in my Blu Ray DVD player with HDMI and it has the same blank screen so I am now trying your Deeper repair option and will let you know what happens :)

Last thing to Try...

Download and install the Revo Uninstaller. Then run it in Moderate Mode to remove any traces of Roxio.

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!

Nobody here is going to fix it :) This is not Roxio support. We are just users like you.

Something happened to your system between when it worked and now.

Robbster: Thanks for the pic!

Looks like you have a good working install now.

(the Drive must be installed for the pass through to work)

Please describe, in detail, what connects from the RGC pass through to your TV???

(remember I can't see it so I rely on your details)

Ok my setup is this, I'll try to describe it in as much detail as i can:

Xbox 360 Slim(the one with the touchscreen buttons) Connects to the INPUT of the Roxio Game Cap HD Pro, with HDMI. Then a HDMI cable connects from the OUTPUT of the Roxio game cap to the HDTV, into HDMI slot 3. Then the usb goes from the Roxio to my PC. I have Windows 8.

Anything else you need to know?

There are MANY things I still need to learn

The next thing would be that you cannot allow your TV to auto detect! You must manually set it to that HDMI 3 ;)

Again, the only way to test that is to try it on another Monitor/TV. (even if you have to con a mate into bringing one over :D )

Just so I know, you aren't using SCART anywhere in this mix, right?

I have tried 2 other tv's and they both said mode not supported :/, I also installed it on another computer and i got the exact same error as before. Nope I'm not using SCART. And ofc, i go to the channel HDMI 3, and i get 2 narrow verticle lines. on the left side of the screen thats it. :/
