Nxt Disc Creator Saves Image File, But Burner Doesn't Engage

JimmyFro

Question

Hi, I have a Dell n5010 laptop with i3 running W7 and I have used my Roxio nxt several times with no problem. I created a music disc with 76 minutes of music, but I can't seem to get disc creator and my internal cd/dvd burner to communicate. It's saving the disc image. It tells me that it's Writing.. disc.. but the burner disc drive never lights and roxio gives me Complete indication without burning.

anyone?

It sound like you are creating a disc image which is great if you want to make several copies. If you are going to make several copies, uncheck that option and select the burner. You can always burn the image file to a disc using. "Burn Image to Disc" on the Home page.

mine does the same with movies. It will burn image file but says there is no disk in the drive. I'm disappointed with nxt, I have used the old video wave to make several movies and NXT is much more finicky. What setting do I have wrong?

Did you follow the suggestions above? Apparently it fixed the issue for the original poster because he never came back and asked more.

Which post would you have us reply to; the new one or this one from back in March. We shuld not do both because you will get confused! :(

I didn't miss that fact.

I was just pointing out that after tripplec hijacked the thread the original poster was forgotten, and the gurus missed that fact. I noticed it when trying to chase tripplec up.

-Not throwing bricks, just reminding us and others of the dangers of thread-jacking.
