Well it has been a while since I posted. The reason is I was trying to get others to help me with it, because it is still doing the same thing. It is way too annoying to mess with. I think I am just going give it a review and move on to get another video editor. However thanks again for your help Jim.

What "same thing" is it still doing? At one point you say it is working fine then you state you are having problems. That indicates that you have corrupt video files or your system is unstable and is corrupting the Roxio program.

Multiple splits are an easy function in Videowave.

This may need to be looked into a little more though. I am sure those of you at Roxio do not want bad customer reviews, and allot of people use those desktop apps, I don't know if it was one, or a combination, I just know it worked after I turned them off.

The picture below shows me now editing happily!

The folks, who responded to you, are not Roxio employees. They are users of the software/hardware, like you.

I finally got it working! I was getting ready to do the last suggestion you left. The only thing was i did not want to do all of that, so I tried everything I knew how to once more. i uninstalled the entire thing with the software you provided and tried software then hardware and everything. Just as i was getting ready to do it the way you said too I though, well If something is messing it up, perhaps I can just remove the thing that is causing it. I had Spotify, Skype, Steam, Raptr and Logitech Webcam all running as shown in the bottom right. I exited all of them then started up the Roxio software again, opened up a video, I just edited a video for 15 minuets! This is awesome! Once again thanks for your help Jim. I am VERY glad I FINALLY got this thing fixed! :D

We might as well jump to the end here...

I would normally suggest an intermediate repair step but might as well go whole hog

This is extensive, but it what I suggest...

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!

Ok so here are a few examples of what is happening. I first pulled up a new production and threw in a video. It was running smooth for a minuet, then as soon as it said not responding I screenshot it. The first picture was when i selected trim. Then when I pressed Ok I wanted to see how it looked, but when i pressed play it stooped responding shown in picture 2, and then a few seconds later it done was is shown on picture 3. Then after a minuet or two of waiting picture 4 shows what happens.

Post some more examples...

The one you did post, I mentioned it was a corrupt file and nothing is going to fix that :(

If you have others like that, YES they will break the software

Yes I do have some other ideas but if you are repeating the same errors, they will result in the same way -_-

:( Well I have done everyhing you had said and more. It was working fine for about 5 minutes then just quit responding again. Then I did the repair 3 more times, the exact way you siad it. Because that did not work I messed around the the settings to see if I could figure out something. When I could not I asked a few of my computer freak friends about it. We did a few things but still it would do the same thing. It almost seems it was intended for it to do that. I am just very frustrated with this. Unless you have another idea, I am out. It is just not working for me. :(

Did you even bother to try what I suggested???

VideoWave is proven Editor, introduced in 2004

I wouldn't be too quick to turn my back on it

The total length (time) of your production can slow it down in some cases... With your PC specs though I would think even a 2 hour HD production would move right along ;)

Sooo that leaves us to do a proper repair!

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

See what that does for you ;)

I am having the same problem. I have not been able to do anything with the software and it really ticks me off. I have updated, defraged, and tried everything I could think off. It can't be my computer, its a 2012 gaming PC. When I try to edit it keeps saying Not Responding. I can wait for it to complete the last action but it has taken up to an hour just to respond when I split a 30 second video. Then later after I have waited for so long it will not even work, I have to cclose it from task manager.

:angry2:

PLEASE HELP!

Well, yes it can be your computer...

List your specs, like you see in my sig block and include your HDD Free Space for all drives you might have.

While you are digging that info up, try running VW in Software Render mode - Tools - Options - Render - Software. That seems to help a lot in editing when hardware is an issue ;)
