Transfer Size Vs. Burn Size

KWAZ

Question

I have several TV shows that I am recording that show one size (2GB) for an hour show that when I transfer to Toast 11 video record it shows that it needs a lot more space (3.5 GB) so I can only get 1 show on a disk. Is this normal for there to be a big difference or am I doing something wrong? And what causes it? Thanks for the answers

It is normal because the captured video is probably h.264 MPEG-4 which has greater compression than the MPEG 2 used for video DVD. However, you could put both the videos in the Toast Video window and choose Save as Disc Image. Save it to fit a dual-layer disc. When that is done choose the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window, select the saved .toast file and click the burn button. You'll have the option to use the Fit-to-DVD process to fit both videos to a single-layer disc.
