Re-Installing Toast 11 On A New Computer

GracieC

Question

Hi,

I bought a new disc drive for my MacBook Pro and it included a copy of Toast 11. Later on in this year I'm hoping to get a new desktop either an iMac or Mac Pro and would prefer to use Toast on that computer. Can I install it on my laptop just now, remove it and re-install it on my new computer or will I have to buy a new copy?

Thank you,

Kind Regards,

Grace

I have a similar problem. Have been running Toast 11 Titanium v 11.1 with Mountain Lion on my old iMac. Have purchased latest iMac and tried to install Toast from my original CD but when I try to open the program I get the message "The folder Toast 11 Titanium can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents". The program just installed without any setup options so I have not been able to enter my CD-Key anywhere. I am avoiding Apple Migration Assistant as there were problems on my old mac which I do not want to transfer to the new one. Help would be greatley appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation. Michael

Download the Toast 11.1 Update from Roxio's software updates page and install it instead. It has everything that's on your install CD. The permissions issue was a problem with the original install discs and I think there is a knowledgebase article for dealing with it if that is the way you want to go. But you don't have to.

I too have a similar problem. I have recently purchased a new IMac which does not have a cd drive on it....Is there somewhere I can download Toast Pro 11 AGAIN on my new computer and enter my Key?

You can download the installer for everything except the Pro-version extra apps and plug-in from Roxio's software updates page. Some of the extra apps can be downloaded directly from the developer's sites. For those that can't you should be able to transfer them from your previous Mac using Migration Assistant. Apple also created a way to use the optical drive from a networked Mac for installing to a Mac that does not have an optical drive.

See my pinned topic at the top of the forum about what's included in the Toast 11.1 update.
