Problems Running Roxio In Windows 7

Dimitrios

Question

Hello, I have a problem with Roxios easy CD and DVD burning program. After purchasing it online I get the following screen I am going to post. I can't do anything afterwards, tried running it as administrator and in compatibility mode, still nothing, Using Windows 7 on a Dell.

Any help from a techinician I can get?

Thanks

Hello,

That is showing a partially rendered Registration screen. Creator uses some parts of Internet Explorer during its operation, and it looks as though your I.E. settings are wrong.

Please have a read of THIS TOPIC. http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/80438-new-installation-problems/

There are two solutions offered in the topic. Post #10 shows how Pat Nugent made the Roxio program avoid that registration screen, while post #17 shows how Djazzman fixed up his Internet Explorer settings.

Brendon

Thank you for the help. Tried updating my drivers and setting the font as I was told, nothing changed.

I also checked the topic you showed me, tried both solutions. When trying the one that fixed my IE settings I found there were no folders other than the 0,1,2,3 and 4.

When trying the one that said this:

"As for registration, take a look in the registry at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic\Registration\{89A15676-78AE-4D51-BF5B-DEE3E0D46C94} (or similar)

Do you see a registry key with a similar ID? If so is there a REG_DWORD entry called "ShowRegistration"? Change the value to 0, close the registry and try launching Creator."

There was no {89A15676-78AE-4D51-BF5B-DEE3E0D46C94} (or similar) entry, even if I found the RED_DWORD entries there wasn't any that said "ShowRegistration".

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hello,

For Easy CD & DVD Burning version 10.3 the registration key is here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic\Registration\{7919D8D9-69FB-4E94-B330-04C4AF251867}

An easy way to find it is to run REGEDIT.EXE, then press Ctrl and F, and type showregistration into the 'Find' box, then click 'FindNext'.

Once you see the key found, double-click on the name ShowRegistration, and set the value data to zero.

Restart Windows, and then try your software.
