sknis
Can you start a new project?
bpowell
Yes, can create new project, add movies, burn w/o problem. Just cannot re-open. (These are AVCD projects). Running under XP SP3 which I didn't mention earlier.
Jim_Hardin
It seems as though the files are corrupted... If you can open MyDVD now, create/save/reopen Projects, that pretty much lets the program off the hook Edit: info since then renders this post incorrect... sorry! bpowell
All I see are DMSD files. No DMSM files nor are there any DAT files
grandpabruce
All I see are DMSD files. No DMSM files nor are there any DAT files You won't see any .dmsm files, or .dat files, if you did not do your production in VideoWave. .dmsd files are MyDVD files
bpowell
I did do my project in My DVD. I think it links to videowave to trim, which I do perform, then I click a button labeled "return to MyDvd" before saving the project.. My issue is only on Re-open of projects. Selecting a specific project to reopen, or choosing "Open Last" generates the error message. It's really consistent. I've repeated the add/edit/save/burn cycle with different source material, and get the runtime exception after exiting and restarting Nxt and attempting to reopen those projects. A real PITA as i like to try out the disk in the actual home system for a final tweak review and almost always see something I want to change,
Jim_Hardin
I am sorry ~ I was rushing to get an answer in before an appointment and got my extensions all mixed up GPB is right the MyDVD dmsd files Do Not have a DAT file associated with them... From what you just posted I suggest this: First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Now insert your Roxio Disc - run Install. Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot. Hopefully that will resolve any corruption that has crept into the program
sknis
I think the corruption is on the project(s -?) since the OP can start a new project. Something went wrong. Did you move any of the resources you used in Create DVD?
bpowell
Jim and Sknis, thanks so much for your input. I really appreciate the support! I am going to try the repair process as suggested and will report back. As far as moving resources, I don't think so (didn't move the source files or any of the application)
Jim_Hardin
Keep in mind the Repair may not fix your existing project...
