Windows 8 Installation Rolls Back?

I have exactly the same problem, Upgraded to windows 8 pro, creator 11 would not work, bought upgrade to NXT because website says it works with windows 8 but it will not install, please help me I have tried everything above, all compatibility modes and it just keeps rolling back....

I recently upgraded my pc to windows 8 pro 64 bit (why?) managed to get free updates for most of my software and some of it worked anyway, one that didn't was creator 2011, fair enough, it's old, so I paid for an upgrade to NXT because the website says that it is compatible with windows 8, but it will not install. It gets about three quarters through, then fails with and error and rolls back. the same error is mentioned on here about 10 times but I see no solutions, the support is non existent, I managed to register the product, which is pretty stupid seeing as it wont install, but I have not been sent a support key, so I end up going round and round the rubbish support site not getting any help. will someone please help me otherwise I am going to have to ask for a refund and buy something else that works, which is a shame because I have been using Creator for years... WHY IS THERE NO DECENT SUPPORT ON HERE?

Thanks for trying to help, even though most of the links are for NXT PRO, and Windows 7. I've checked all of the updates, I've manually installed DirectX run-time but now when I try to reinstall Creator NXT it is telling me that 'the product key that I entered is invalid' which is odd, because I have cut and pasted it from the email the Roxio sent me, it was valid yesterday? I have even typed it in manually and it still does not work?

OK. I rebooted, and now the key works - odd. Still failing on the install though - it fails in EMC_140 excerpt below, logfile zip attached

Your installing from a administrator account with full permissions?

 

Shut everything down/off and type %temp% in the bottom left search box, click on the temp folder, click edit, select all, click file, click delete (a few things won't delete). Navigate to your Roxio log files and delete them all, now reboot. Make sure your running in a administrator account with full permissions, run the Roxio install again. If it fails post the log file again.

I deleted all the temp files like you said, stopped everything, all programs and background services etc, I am the only user/administrator on my machine and I ran it as administrator and it still failed in the same place. I am running Windows 8 - all servicepacks and updates are up to date.

It fails on the msi for EMC_140, like it's corrupt. Have you contacted Roxio support?
