Video Wave Stop Working

I currently purchased Roxio Creator NXT to go with my new Windows 8 HP desk top. Every time I trim my video clip by marking the start and end mark and hit ok, I receive a message the following message "Video Wave has stopped working". Window is not closing... Does anyone have any solution to this problem. Please help

I have frequently had this touble - it seems tobe caused by not waiting long enough for the sofware to render images....particularly wheen looking for viseo files, when I have found waiting for all the icons to show proper thumbnails is vital!
