Roxio Game Capture "unknown Capture Error"

SiggyxLeGiiT

Question

Edit: I think I can post the video and if it finishes you might be able to see it. If not, everything is still described here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nVNWENtia4&feature=youtu.be

***The video shows a blank screen when recording, that is not the problem. When recording with Hypercam it doesn't show what's on my screen. After a little bit of recording, every single time it will show this message:

I try to update within the software and it tells me I'm not connected to the internet or to try again, in which case I am connected. I used this software back on my Windows 7 laptop, but now I am on a Windows 8 desktop.

This always hasn't been a problem. Here is a folder of content I've recorded without this problem. It hasn't occurred before and once it started, it occurs 100% of the time.

*** I do have a video but it seems to be taking very long to upload, I'll post it in the morning. It basically shows the program starting up, pressing record, and after 30 seconds or so, "Unknown Running Error" occurs, stops the recording, and asks me if I would like to save it any way.

Thank you for your time,

Anthony S.

As far as Hypercam ~ not a Roxio issue... You would have to take that up with Hypercam ;)

As far as updates for RGC, there is only one. If you enter any program after the start screen, Capture or Stream, simply click on the Help - About to make sure you have SP 1.1

Of course the Capture should not end abruptly and that does indicate a proper repair is needed.

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Follow those instructions precisely and you should be back to normal ^_^
